British Army, left for reasons I won't go into here. Trained as a Mental Health Nurse and went to Sanhurst to the officer selection. I didn't make the grade but gave it my all. Now I 'care' for people with SMI (serious mental illness) in forensic psychiatry.

Thanks to all that have served or are serving, no matter the country. I tried for the marines back in 97 but my mental health issues blacklisted me from the military (borderline schizophrenia). I volunteer at several organizations, including habitat for humanity, Shriners hospital, and the soldiers and sailors home, just to name a few.

I havent personally served (im only 15) but both grandpas served in WWII, lost an Uncle in Vietnam, and had a few cousins in Afghan

Lucky bastard lived 👊 never hear him complain about what it did either.
Dad, Coast Guard- hahaha dont know where to start with this guy.
Hes helped bust hundreds of millions in drugs throughout his career, rescue missions and firefighting on the big ships. Damage control specialist. :) once locked himself in the hold of a ship to weld the hull shut and keep it from sinking.

Kudos for having the guts to try. I did 4 yrs as a Marine ground pounder, but then switched over to the Army to get in on the medical side (and went to Iraq), because after a while killing loses it's appeal.

I'm from Australia and I teach intellectually disabled children. Just because they can't do the same things that the average kid can't do doesn't mean they shouldn't be taught how to function in society and have the ability to be independent.

It really does mean a lot when a civilian comes up and shakes your hand and says thank you. It's nice to know that people appreciate what we do. -

I'm no racist I'm mixed race half Irish half Jamaican . Born and bread English / British but I don't get priority over housing to some 1 that's been here 3 weeks never worked and has 6 kids . I think / just my opinion that some thing has gone really wrong in the world meaning people break there back to surport there family but end up paying for other family s who don't want to help there selfs . Does this happen in the us or aus ? Or just England ? -
