There are going to be a few bad apples in every protest. Does that mean the whole group should lose its right I have a voice?

If laws are broken, yes. Do it the right way or go the hell home. No one should be owed a damn thing, people have been killed defending the rights we enjoy and you have people crying that they want more while they either abuse or ignore the rights of others. Those few "bad apples" blow the legitimacy of the whole movement, they make the news therefore they become the face of the movement. So you are defending a bunch of irresponsible, drug addled, deviants that could care less about the civil rights they claim they are being denied. That about sum it up? I'm out of here, if B is the only one trying to make a point it is pretty much a lost cause because facts are irrelevant now.

No correlation....lol. The arrests have happened inside the camp and all four ODs have been inside the camp. If you can't find a correlation between that and the people in the occupy Portland encampment then I suggest you pull your head outNoghri_ViR wrote:

I'm all up to this stand up for what you believe and your constition. But there's a point where it needs to stop.
Protesting and ruining people's lives is being a hypocrite. You saying you want a better life and the government to change. But there you are making some peoples lives a living hell.
You're not helping the people. You're harming them.Should have just bought a permit! If the cause was really that important and needed then you'd pay a bit money and avoid confrontation.
Now your gonna make a police men's job a thousands times harder. All because you refused to move. Who knows, that police man might have had to do overtime to control you. Missing out his time with his wife and kids. Is he benefiting from your protest? No, he isn't.
-
Now a question, what is this protest achieving? Is the economy suddenly going to improve? Or will thousands of dollars fall from the sky ending all your problems? Maybe a thousand jobs will appear out of no where?
I'm sorry. I don't see how this will help. Your making things worse.

Well! What's the point in protesting when it's worth nothing?I also like how you ignored the rest of my post. I take that you accept the rest as fact.

I have a message from the Chinese government...
TIANMEN SQUARE+FALUN DAFA
Ok. If I don't post again tomorrow, I'll either be in a political prison being tortured or dead.

The police backed down last night. Tonight the protesters are marching through downtown.
Apparently there were between 5,000 and 7,000 people last night. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight.
-
A person on the news said it best tonight. The occupy Portland movement lost their way when they occupied main street and not wall street

Fact is plain and simple, if you are an American citizen, and the government has failed, it isn't just your right, but it is your DUTY, to overthrow said government and put a better, more perfect one in it's place. Step one to revolution- discontent. Step two-Public outcry and protest. Step three- either people do the right thing and work towards a constructive solution, or people respond the wrong way and panic, and rash descisions get made.

Instead of organizing to disrupt they should use the effort to find candidates they like and vote them in!

I'm not going back and forth with you. If you don't understand that you CAN'T break the law just because you want to be heard, then I don't know what to say.
Some people will never understand. -

AMEN BROTHER, everyone protests and says we have the worst thing going and in most other countries you wouldn't even be able to say that...

Also I in some ways back up the protests but in other ways do not. I back them up when they do a correct protest, not when they do a whole occupy Oakland protest where they destroyed a whole grocery store and attacked police.
