It's sad that he's obviously not in yours. Grigloar (sp)? It's always any individuals choice to accept or deny but I do know I'm a much happier n satisfied man in my daily walk in life with Him.

Is it too early to bring the Flying Spaghetti Monster into this debate?

There are a number of reasons that prayers are not answered. Sin, unbelief and doubt are just a few of them. The sad fact is that most don't pray or acknowledge God until they need something. Do our prayers come from a firm belief in God or simply as a result of a desperate situation? For those who believe in the healing power of prayer: why has God never answered the prayers of an amputee?

Amen!!!!!!

As for people dying in wars or victims of natural disasters, God does not punish us for our actions. They are just victims (as we all potentially are) of life happening. The fact that we have free will and some choose to do evil acts that cause harm and hurt is the way God established the plan. We choose to worship God because we can and not because we have to.

God causes the sun to rise on both the righteous and the wicked. God's ultimate desire is to see all people call on his name for salvation that they might spend eternity with him. We know that will not happen but that is God's desire. Satan is the god (little g) of this world for a time and he seeks to steal, kill and destroy those who live in it. That's why bad things happen.
-
And for the record, I believe in evolution to an extent. There is proof of it. I just happen to believe in the biblical account of creation and in the fact that there is a creator who designed all of the universe for an expressed purpose. That purpose is to spend eternity with us! It could happen no other way. In my opinion, it takes way more faith to believe in evolution's theory of creativity as a chance happening.

I am absolutely not suggesting that amputees don't deserve healing. I am saying that a good majority of people want the benefits of Christianity without laying down their lives and refusing to make Jesus their Lord.
-
I don't understand why creationists and evolutionists can't agree. As well as believers & nonbelievers in extra terrestials.
First let me say that I believe in all of this.
In the beginning god created the heaven and earth... Big Bang? If god made us and all the stars in the night sky and our sun is a star with planets, one of which sustains life. What's to say that we(arrogantly) are the only sentient beings in the galaxy. God made Adam. Then from his rib created him eve. Adam knew his wife eve and had 2 sons Cain & Abel. Cain kills his brother and was cast out to the land of Nod. Knew his wife and had children.
Where did cain's wife come from?
God says to Adam... Be fruitful and multiply and REPLENISH the earth. In English re means to do again. Maybe we weren't the first attempt.

That's really an impossible question to answer. There could be lots of reasons why they ( or anyone else for that matter) are not healed. There are plenty of people who are healed however. Try convincing those people that there is no God or that He doesn't care. I have had some prayers that were answered and some that were not. At the end of the day I refuse to think that I have it all figured out in some equation. God is bigger than that and maybe we are not meant to understand it fully.
-
So he only heals in vague, subtle ways on people who are going to get better anyway. Nothing magnificent, like limbs growing back?
-
Not what I said. There have have been thousands of documented "creative" miracles, people healed from HIV and terminal cancers and tumors. Situations that medical science had long dismissed as hopeless and then God stepped in. I don't know how or why it works. I just know that God does heal people and he will continue to do so.

I beleive in god and Jesus and all the other oolah, but there is one thing I cannot stand-
the church.
Do I need to go to a church to pray? No. I have a bedroom for that. Do I need to go to church for forgiveness? No. I have my toilet for that. Do I need to go to a church to be a Christian? No. I have my faith for that. The church is more than just a building- it is a global moneymaking scam.
Think about it- all these collection plates all over the world, you give one dollar, pound or yen or whatever and just think of all the people in the world who think by donating they're doing something good for god- when they're being harvested for "gods profits".
Does god want money? No. God has no need for money, it is a tool of the devil, people fight, gamble, and die for money. So why does the church need money? To put some scratch in Benedics back pocket. No t for god.
Please respect my opinion, and understand it. -
I completely understand your position. The Church has done a less than adequate job of being good stewards of money given in offerings or tithes. No, God doesn't need the money BUT when we believe that God is our provider we are more than willing to give it. The principle of sowing and reaping is solid.
-
I understand what youre saying Nate, but I just wish people would understand WHERE their money is going, cos god hasn't got a bank account...
-
My personal opinion is if you don't know where your church is spending the money then your either not paying attention or are being deceived. Know what your church is supporting.
-
You're right though Bramma. Too much is done in secret. That is not true everywhere but unfortunately, secular society and those who don't want to give use that as an excuse to attack the church. Sad but true.
