Yes, much culture and art is involved when spray painting obscene things on private/public property. I mean, I'm sure the owner of that van LOVES the new FUCK spray painted on the side when he wasn't looking! it sure does seem professional. So what's people's view on graffiti(street art) that play tw. If you're going to spray paint, spray paint your own property.

Abandoned building... Not your house or car....

I like the big murals on buildings and train cars....but the random shit you see on stop signs, bus stops, bathrooms, and other places is just plain ugly.

Often there is a difference between graffiti and tagging. Taggers are the real culprits when it comes to making places look ugly and run down

And obviously there's a difference between obscene graffiti on someone's property and paid for graffiti on building walls or abandoned buildings hooked up with some sweet work.
That said, I love tasteful graffiti. Of course, I'm an artist do why wouldn't I? Though, if it infringes on someone else's rights aka their property then of course it's a no.

Grafitti or tags, one of the five elements of Hip Hop. It is an intregal part of hip hop culture. It is poor taste to say fuck something because you don't understand it. Much the same way if I said fuck some aspect of another persons culture. Obviously you don't have to agree with another's culture but try to respect it or at least understand it. If one person abuses it, it doesn't mean he represented the entire thing. If one person plays bagpipes bad, you can't say F Scottish culture.

I manage multiple gas stations and graffiti does nothing to help with the cost of gas... We all gotta make a profit and replacing items or painting te costs money.

I have mixed feelings. When I travel to places like Rome, Florence, or Paris, I get absolutely disgusted by the graffiti I see. Who thinks it's worthwhile to tag monuments, and structures that old. I mean Rome is full of it. I mean you see it on monuments over 4000 years old! What the hell are they thinking?!?!
But then again I love the artform and expression if done right. An example, I was driving on a highway during rush hour once, when I noticed color on the cement walls on the over passes. Someone had simply dumped neon paint filled cans from the top of the dull cement walls, and let the paint drip down. It's made me happy to see it. The person had done this for blocks. So every overpass looked colorful and different. So simple, and yet powerful.

I'll post up some points from a graffiti artist views soon.

If the building is your property or unused and out of the way then where's the harm?
