Like a big"SO AND SO WAS HERE" in fancy writing painted on my van doesn't really appeal to me. Yeah that's fair enuf. But a truck is a great way of a graffiti artist to get his or her name around for other artists to see. That's the main resin behind that. Anything else people want to know? Just ask me :-) always happy to explain things from my side. Wether it's bad a good feed back. I believe more people need to know about the hole underground seen. And how long it takes to become a GOOD writer. I'm 22, been sketching n painting for ten years. Don't really paint any more. Don't have time. And I'm not some little punk. That's a terrible stereo type by the media. And I personally think it's unfair. But, it will always be the kase. If u wona see some of my random drawings, I have afu on Facebook.

Banksy

I appreciate the art. but to paint all over someone's truck or car just so they can get their name recognized? really? and I don't listen to the media. by my definition, punk is:
A. Someone who deliberately chooses to disobey rules.
B. someone who shows large amounts of ignorance.
____________
I think I'm pushing for A here. according to many human rights papers(such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights) each individual is entitled to his/her private property. private meaning, no one has the fright to deface it. -
*right

Hahaha good old banksy. Yeah that's true. I write and I'd be pissed if someone graffiti on my private property. I have morels that I follow. And that's one of them. The government and concil are the main targets you could say. Or if possible, a legal wall. What people don't realize, is that every day decent citerzens graffiti. There is some masive skill involved using a can to produce such wonderful stuff. Years of practise. Like my spelling. Haha. I can fill in more if needed. Like were it started. Ect. And why most do it. I don't mind at all :-)
-
I'm a writer, legal walls are few and far between, even then they are taken up by people who have can control. 'toys' (new writers) have nowhere to start up and get their style going,if you over some1 with more skill then you you get a beat down, meaning you get shitty tags around your local areas mainly done by the young writers.,,,graffiti is the biggest art movement to ever exist yet is shunned all over the world, people bitch about how it cost governments/people to clean the graffiti, for one governments/states/private companys employ people to clean it, creating jobs for people, also if not racked, graffiti artist use their cash to buy paint, and paint for piecing is expensive, it's not just a mindless crime, take note on barcelona laws on graffiti, these rules should be world wide

It's all In the name, Banksy is a sell out

Completely agree with u 👆👆.
I've been to Barcelona, Paris, Rome ect. When I first arrived at all three. The graffiti there made me get shivers down my spine. It's amazing. They graffiti in the most pack busy places. It's insane. Also driving to Paris, there highway was like three hours long. And not one wall the hole way was cleaned! Almost busted a nut. Haha. I was in heaven. And in Paris, the old subway tunels underground are the new place to meet other writers there. There all abandoned. I'm from Australia btw. Glad to see another writer playing. Atleast some shares my
Point of view on here. Hahaha. Australia's laws are fucked. Now first time offenders, depending on how big they are, can be locked up. Luckily
I only got 80 hours community service :) but i still draw. It's addictive. -
Caught you blue boys sleepn again...... My favorite thing to use in a stencil ;-)

Lol. you're saying that e money used to buy paint is helping the economy a lot? lol, paint isn't that much of an economic venture. The real money lies in financing, nformation, and services. Not paint. Also, saying that hiring people to get rid of paint is giving people jobs is like saying flies dying fertilizes our crops. the amount of jobs a factory might hand are more than 10,000, maybe millions of times more than the quanitity of jobs available to get rid of paint. the 2 points you made are very, very small,

@ _don_line_, there are actually plenty of jobs that accur from graffiti or revolve around it. Now I know your not a big fan because 1 person graffiti your van. Yep, fare enuf. You deserve the right to be angry. But, you shouldn't hate every single person that's involved in the graffiti seen or movement. There is so much that happnds behind the seen that u don't see. Only writers know about and understand. Go on you tube and look for an old documentary, I thinks it's called wild style. If I've remembered right. It's a documentary done in the 70's when graffiti first started in new York. It's actually quiet interesting. Up to u. If u did some research into graffiti, I think u would be quiet surprised. I've got nothing against u. Glad to here different point of views :-)

I enjoy the art. but some of the shit "art" is getting really unoriginal. I think I've seen this over 20 times now, in different places. "______was here" or "_______+_______". And nt that many jobs come out of graffiti. and regardless, if graffiting property gave out a huge amount of jobs and money, wouldn't people do it more? Not that much profit comes from graffiti, it costs the people or the government more than it gains to replace defaced items.Like a van. the owner of that van might have to give his van a whole new paint job. and I doubt that person is going to her someone, no, he's going to pain over it himself. this is the usual case.

I like the memorial tags. I like the tags that say what's going down and I like the Wyland whale tags in Boston, Providence, and New London. I don't like the "tags" all over the highway saying buy this or do that.

Any art is misunderstood by the masses. It's always been this way. Wether it's on a canvas or a subway wall. Hell some say photography and graphic design are not art, though they very much are. I think the lack of understanding is what makes things like this great. And people should strive to understand what they do not understand. Expanding your mind expands your life.
And remember there's a difference between vandalism and Graffiti art. IMO, Those are two different scenes. A person's rights end where another's begin. A motto to live by.

Well said. People don't understand why we graffiti. Until they realize the culture behind it. It will never be fully recognized as a art form. But I gues half the resion behind wanting to graffiti is because your every day people don't understand it. Or can't read it. I like that fact. I may not illegally graffiti any more. But I'm still well known around the gold coast by other writers. And I still follow the seen. 80 hours community is not fun. I can tell u that. Haha -
My stance:
I love graffiti. it looks cool, sometimes beautiful. But graffiti that are just words(which is the most common where I live in) are not only unoriginal, they look ugly. I wouldn't mind some art on my driveway. however, to spray paint my property that basically tells me to go buy something, it really takes the awesomeness out of graffiti.
Places I enjoy graffiti:
Highway
Roads
abandoned buildings
Legal roadsPlaces I don't enjoy graffiti:
My house
My other properties
Buildings that people use
On other art
ON monuments -
My neighbors house. I don't care about them.

I'm a writer. The only problem is, I was drawing in my black book at school when my friend saw it. He was interested and wanted to become a writer, but he's a big mouth and soon everyone in the school new I wrote. At the time I had nothing up so no one could incriminate me. I gotta lay low til high school next year when all the schools come together and there will be more people. And most if not all people will forget over summer break. They can't even pay attention to someone for more than 5 seconds. Sigh. Wish I had more intelligent people in my school, so I can have a conversation about something other than CoD. Sorry for the off topic rant there.
