Personally I say 60s and 90s. I'd have to say out current is probably the worst with all the mainstream teeny bopper crap

More than 5 different music styles were created. The best selling album of all time was done in the 80's. -

It spawned all genres of dance music I listen too anyways.
So for me it's the most important.

The mainstream music sucks but there are lots of good metal bands (if you look past the shitty emo music that people call metal) -
Fuck emo's....
-
I say 70's black sabbath, Zeppelin, kiss all the punk pistols, ramones, mc5 followed by the 60's Beatles rolling stones Hendrix Clapton etc...

this chick i used to go to school with. She said Micheal Jackson was over rated 😱
i felt like smacking the bitch n force her to show some respect. As for me i believe it was between the 90's and possibly the 70's I can go as far back as the 50's but to be honest I'm not too fond with music from the 60's and even less of the 50's but I know a few things that's worth knowing haha -

Do you don't consider Micheal Jackson creative? How about Metallica? What about techno? What about early rap music? Come on dude the 'crap' of today was started in the 80's. The issue today is easy money: the BS done today is the fault of music companies signing weak people to long term contracts then allowing them to make mediocre music. -
Music was still better in the 90s. Give the 80s a hard look. It was just another version of today. Lots o teeny boppers. No real experimentation. And btw. Metallica sucks

Depends on the genre. I listen more to latin American music cause I felt like the mainstream music thats popular in the U.S was becoming absolute crap. I listen more to bachata and murengue, and salsa. I do listen to american music just not as much anymore.
-
Hold up Micheal Jackson as the Boss of his time. And thriller is the best selling album of all time. Much of this music made from the 80s was original. The new generation aka today. Tried to recapture it and failed. The 80s was great. When we tried to replicate it not so much.

I'd agree with the inclusion of some of the 80s alternative. I love the stone roses, joy division, the smiths, and the cure. But most pop these days just completely annoys me. Like American idol! What a fricken joke.Personally I say 60s and 90s. I'd have to say out current is probably the worst with all the mainstream teeny bopper crap

Its really difficult to say, different periods had special things that made them different from each other and yet made them worth listening to. The 60s had kind of the beggining of rock itself and kind of introduced bon dylan, and rolling stones. The 70s had that disco and funk, like the beegees, the 80s had michael jackson with his synthesizers, and cyndi lauper (true colours B 😜) lol i could go on but each gen had talents that contributed to my musical taste today and theres mo way i could ever pick a favorite. WAAAAY TOO HARDD.

Anyone else ever listen to blow fly? That is some of the ballzeyest, gritty, awesome I've ever encountered.

90s.

I love 90's music

Doesn't matter what decade, jazz has always and will always be the most artistic. Anything mainstream is not as artistic as those who make music for the sake of making music, not dollars.
I'm also fairly biased since my dad is a jazz guitarist and I've heard incredible music that most people will never know or even be able to comprehend because they have next to nothing for musical education.
My dad listens to stuff even I don't like but he thinks it's amazing, he understands it, I don't. -

Every decade is represented well for artistic music. Just rarely in the mainstream. Record labels, the big ones, squelch it. Simply my opinion.

I have the understanding for music: formal training on guitar and saxophone. I have Jammed with a wide range of players from every genres...most people can hear and understand, don't sell them short. -
Jazz will always have a special place in my heart. It's almost in a completely separate realm because it is the one genre I feel like words cheapen the listening experience. There are great guitarists and vocalists out there for sure, but count basie, dave brubeck, coltrane, etc., are such masters of their groups' instruments that I feel like I just had a deep, heartfelt talk with my best friend for hours without saying a word
