Can anybody give me advice?
Forums › General Discussion › Can anybody give me advice?-
Okay- I put myself in a really stupid and idiotic position.
I'm a pretty good kid. I try really hard to make my life as good as it can possibly get.
But I made a really stupid mistake.
I tried to shoplift something from a Best Buy.
Obviously, I got caught.
But I feel like shit. Not for getting caught, but for even thinking of trying to do this.
I emailed my school counselor and wished to talk to him. I wasn't arrested, but the store manager photocopied my id and told me never to walk into the store again. He also is emailing my principal.
Can anybody give me advice? I'm afraid and need help. -
Why ask for advice? Your parents have probably been telling you not to steal for years, you obviously didn't listen to them.
-
Write a letter to the store.
And talk to the principal. Tell them you were sorry and you weren't thinking and it won't happen again.Simple.
-
What did you try to shoplift???
-
Learn from your mistakes and make yourself a better person. Self reflection.

realize that you made a mistake and are very fortunate the store manager didn't call the cops.
you should write a letter to the mgr thanking him for helping you learn a valuable lesson this early in life and how sorry you are.
then maybe find someplace in your community to volunteer your services for a day to drive home the point. the point being that you've learned the value of giving to others versus taking from others; especially when it does not belong to you.
if u do all of that, then you've turned a horrible life experience into a fantastic time of growth, learning and maturation.
please let us know what you decided to do.

I already emailed my principal and am meeting with him today. He said he'll handle the store manager.
I know my principal really well and he has always vouched for my good intentions. He said he's willing to help me. -

Sir Talk A Lot and Saelo said it best. On here you do sound sincerely remorseful. If you already have an appointment with the principal made, I think you're on the right path.

Volunteering for community service to make up for trying to steal from a mega billion dollar corporation is a bit far. No one was risk of getting hurt except a corporation that has way too much anyways. Learn from your mistake and don't do anything stupid like that again

I never steal anything. My point though is Stealing from a corporation isn't the same as say burglary. After all the people in those corporate seats have never even worked for that which they have.🔥HELL RAZOR🔥 wrote:

I work for best buy and I take it personally when people steal from us. It happens everyday. Having items stolen affects employees of all levels. Jobs can and are lost if shrink cannot be controlled.

It's not a bit far. It's a taste of what he'd be in for if he'd been arrested and given community service. A great reminder I think and maybe a great start to a good volunteer habit. Seriously, "hurting a corporation??!?" how about starting a career as a criminal. Not something you want to do. He's on the right track. You could do with a few turns at a soup kitchen or mopping the floors at the local library if you haven't tried it already. Here's what I've decided to do:
I have talked to the principal of mu school and am in the process of writing a letter to the store in apology. I will be volunteering one saturday every month at a nonprofit of my choice.
Thanks to everyone who has given me advice on this. I appreciate it. -
Excellent decision Emp! Keep your head up always!
-
yeah good decision
i think i live in the same general vacinity as you, what school do u go 2
also what grade? -
Do your parents noo
-
Do you do confessions in your church? If so say that to the preist.
He might give you some advice also. -
Also don't think about it.
Just take it as a lesson and move on with your life. -

If you have good handwriting than write it by hand. Trust me it's better to do it that way. -
