Kindle app
Forums › General Discussion › Kindle app-
It's really a shame that apple is winning the app store book war now With the substandard iBooks. And not by merit. They changes the rules not to allow in app purchases of books except their own product. Now to the knowledgeable person this isn't a problem. Just do kindle store from safari. But as the low reviews show the masses can't be convinced that there is any way to quite new books. Typical modern day apple. Instead of creating a superior product they seek ways to tear others down to push their mediocre crap

With all the suffering in the world, does anyone really care about your one sided opinion of what constitutes mediocrity?

Lemme splain.
Amazon does not want to pay apple to use their purchasing systems. If you want to sell through apple, you need to give them their cut. Nick knows all about it.
Amazon kindle was bypassing this blanket rule that applies to EVERY native application.
Apple is not targeting competition in this case, you bean brain.
Amazon has created a web app for iPhone to get around this problem, and still does not have to pay apple their due.
Stop being all biased and open your beady little eyes to reality.

I just won't update it

I buy books.... Not e-books.

Amazon releasing their own tablet in Oct. The tensions about to increase a whole lot more between the 2.

There is no web based app brown. You have to go through the hassle of goin to the site through safari making the purchase there then syncing the library. Adds about 1-2 minutes to the average purchase. And apples cut of 30% is pretty ridiculous. The company which was rated the fastest growing company last year needs more money? Cmon. It's just a ploy to get people to use the annoying format of iBooks
-
If you wanna sell on the iPhone/iPad!iPod you have to use the store I guess.
-
IMO apple os too full of themselves and I will celebrate vigorously the day this parasite corporation goes under
-
You are not forced to buy their products, you have a choice.
-
I'm not saying they could never go bust but they have a hell of a cushion

I don't know, you don't have to charge a book, chances of breaking down minimal, dont have roaming charges, kindles can be wider than many books, people aren't going to steal a book. Off top of my head

Don't know why I saidroaming charges lol 😓

And yes I knew about the website and the inconvenience is next to nothing for me. But that doesn't help the fact that apple made a 4 star app go down to 3 stars

You have your personal opinion. But it is nothing more, and it's definitely biased.

And as far as them using the fact that competitive book companies aren't taking the cut is bs too. Those books are on contract. To allow apple to take 30% would mean that prices would have to raise 30%. Then apple would be able to undercut

Nah. Look at actual tech stats. Apple is below both in the pc world and in the cell phone world. Those numbers are factßelial wrote:

And a kindle doesn't do what I need. A kindle is not easy to carry. What I need os a book reader that carries to multiple platforms from pc through to android and iPhone. Kindle app does this. I don't want to see kindle fail because apple got greedy

Show me fact.I happen to like glass and aluminum. I am also able to do what I need to do in a way that meets or exceeds my expectations with Apple products. The specs you speak of are fluff in order to be competitive with the market leader, which they must squeeze in at the expense of overall quality, and profitability.
Apple has very good products, and they cater very well to their target market: beginners and advanced engineers.
You can sit there in your wanna-be middle world of think they know-it-all "geeks" and be happy with your plastic geek toys. I'll hang on to my finely machined piece of art that contains a marvel of modern convenience.
