Coming changes targeting "mule" accounts
Forums › General Discussion › Coming changes targeting "mule" accounts-
As many of you know, some players are using extra devices or friends' accounts to create "mule" accounts to boost their income and get around turf limits. Obviously this is unfair to more casual players and those who don't have spare devices.
To combat this, we're making an adjustment to the turf income calculation system. Basically if a significant portion of your turf was captured from a particular player(s), those turfs will suffer from an income penalty. The vast majority of players won't be directly affected by this change - even if they capture lots of turf.
This is intended to reduce the incentive to maintain "mule" accounts and increase the overall fairness of Turf Wars.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Nick is great.

Mule accounts????? Damn donkeys.
-
It is going to the same even for less populated areas the bulk of my turf are from probs about 7 different people? And what size drop in income are we talking about
-
How is the penalty calculated? What if turf had multiple owners? Does this over penalize folks in low density areas with a limited pool to cap from?
-
I can't be too forthcoming with the numbers used, but it will be targeted mainly at players with a significant % of turf that was captured from another player. If you just capture other players' turf as part of regular gameplay you'll likely not be affected.
-
Damn most of mine are from another player. Just the way it worked out though. Haha that'll make him happy
-
So basically I need to stop capin this local scumbag or else I get penalised

Good job.

Awesome

Hm ... I hv taken 40 turfs from a guy who has taken 10 of mine :(
-
Is this already in effect
-
I guess there is no way to get the ones that are using a mule account to get protection money paid them. Build smaller turfs by their bigger turfs. How will this affect them? Only thing you have done is penalize me for being in an area where there is four turf fractions, two of which appear to be by the same person. That's fine with me, whatever will help. I'm for it.

you have 157 turfs I suspect nick will not set the threshold percentage this low. For example a player I was at war with had 108 turfs of which 78 were created by their mule account. I think it is this sort of threshold percentage that nick will be targeting. 😉Hm ... I hv taken 40 turfs from a guy who has taken 10 of mine :(

This suck ... My bf is playing as well and i hv just taken 1 tirf from him :)

well that should not matter. I've looked at your turfs and I doubt this should affect you. Who is sugar crush - I doubt they are a fan of yours ☺This suck ... My bf is playing as well and i hv just taken 1 tirf from him :)

Great solution! But how can some one distinguish between a mule and just people playing in the same household?

There's not that many people in Brisbane.
-
Hmmm. I just cut a deal with somebody in Memphis. He agreed to come downtown, and I set up 7 turfs for him to take. Is this not the kind of dynamic we want in this game?

then you should be fine. This apples to people who have a high % of turfs captured from the same player.BellaItaliana wrote:

...applies, not apples.

Just an idea - I'm thinking about someone in my area who uses a mule... What if this has a counter-effect & just leads them to capturing more from their mule to make up for lost income? :-/

What about jailbreaking your phone? Heard scottys been beaming people all over, u gonna crush them too? Hope so

Another thought. Turfs from single individuals tend to be localized in different locations. What happens if you get decimated in one area and are left with a group of turfs cap'd from one person? Does the income from those plummet in that scenario?

Good to hear :)
