Does no one else besides us like books!!? Society is degenerating IMO.
-
Totally - just look at the spelling and grammar in the forums!
-
Exactly. I sometimes use shorthand but with some it's not even readable.

All this book talk.. I'm going to my room for some peace & quiet & I'm going to start rereading "the perks of being a wallflower"...if I can make myself stay out of the forums.* The Perks of Being a Wallflower
* To Kill a Mockingbird
* How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale
* You'll Never Make Love in This Town Again..just a few :) I doubt any of those are up your alley though.

i've read a lot. including the T series just so I can shit all over it knowledgeably. I like hungry caterpillar and all of Eric carle's works. I've been into kids books the past couple years. mo willems. the Harry potters. a series of unfortunate events. I really really love the golden compass and his dark materials.
I did a 30 page independent study of utopian lit to graduate HS. good stuff.
I like Harlem Renaissance lit as well as everything Alice walker wrote. I studied a lot of queer theory in college so all that lesbodyke muncher reads are good with me. Michelle Tea might just be my all time favorite.
I think the last book I read was Mick Foley's autobiography.

oh, and I've read every book Michael crichton ever wrote starting with electronic life. and I've read all of Anthony bourdains books including his silly self indulgent mobster cook novels. and same with frank McCourt.
and Bella... shame on you for reading anything (much less two!) books with "make love" in the title. for fucks sake. much less an instructional. if anyone ever catches me "making love" please form a vendetta in my bedroom and kick me in the teeth.

I like hookers. I still think they'd make a phenomenal turf upgrade. I would check it out but I might have to duct tape the cover so I never have to read that phrase.

As a kid I loved "Fudge-a-Mania" by Judy Blume
in high school I liked "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley
the "Great Gatsby" is a good one too

Used to be a huge Stephen King fan pre-accident & before he got on the wagon & sobered up. Anyone who has read the Dark Tower Series will know what I mean...
But I tend to gravitate towards supernatural thriller/horror; James Rollins, Jeff Long, Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child...currently I'm reading (who am I kidding, I'm playing TW!) a 800 page monster of a book called The Swarm by German Author Frank Schatzing; pretty interesting.
