Life sustaining planet found!

Maybe I'm missing the point. I don't care about whether theres other life out there. I'm more interested in finding another planet that will sustain us if we have actually boned this one.

It's called being selfish xD. But yeah. That's what's the scienctists are actually looking for. If it has life on there. It a fail safe that the planet can support us.Maybe I'm missing the point. But whatever life on that planet may be different and have evolved to live on the planet. It may not be safe for a human, but it could be safe for whatever lives there

Ya, should be no problem. Only like 120 trillion miles. No problemOnly 20 light years away. Not that far. Maybe a days trip?

To even get there it would take about 300,000 years. And that Is with current rocket technogly.Superyan wrote:

True. There could be protein incompatabilities etc. But it's not much of a worry. Either we can eat the local flora and fauna, bonus. But whatever life on that planet may be different and have evolved to live on the planet. Or we can't, a pity, but we just rely on what we took with us.
Nobody would take the 200+ year risk of not having food when we got there. Seedbanks and limited livestock would be a must on a generational ship -
kl how many police maps is that away 😉

Odds are that there won't be any species as advanced as ours or even advanced enough to have a large government. Out of the thousands of species living on earth we are the only one that can logically reason at a high level.Continuing from ⬆: If there is a different species of life living there, it would takes years of studying to figure out their language, culture, and see how advanced they are compared to us. Hopefully they are friendly and we could make an agreement to share the planet. A worst case scenario would be an extremely large war to take over the planet. We would need an extremely large invasion force to take the planet. We would also need to invent a space craft that can attack in space, and in atmospheres without using so much fuel. Also that can travel long distances. We would also need as many countries as we can get to support us and give us troopse

Also what is the big deal about finding a planet similar to ours. Couldn't it be just as easy to find life on a planet with liquid methane. Just because we couldn't have formed there doesn't mean other life couldn't have formed.

Sigh. Because we can colonise it in the future when space travel is better. Negative person :/Also what is the big deal about finding a planet similar to ours.
