Announcing a Major New Feature
Forums › General Discussion › Announcing a Major New Feature-
I disagree with the idea that, the plane ticket kills the GPS aspect of the game. The new feature is ONLY "airport to airport"...so, first we'd have to use GPS to get from regular locations within the state to the nearest airport...once we "land" in the new location, we still have to use GPS to branch out and spread across the arrival state or country. It's biggest function would be to cross water on which, we couldn't plant anyway. In a way it's a bummer for wasted time, money & effort for those of us who already achieved this the "hard" way and I think it should be a bit rarer then, once a week but, it opens-up the game in new ways to many other players as a whole.

Your estimate is way too high. It's more like 50% of the top players in the world are bored. Hell, half of the players in this thread are against the idea which to me shows that they aren't bored of the game the way it is. I know this is a great feature for you B and why you want it, but for me (and many others) this is something I think completely changes this game to something it didn't start out as. The game was segregated because it was a GPS BASED LOCATION game, so you fought and played where you lived or where you visited. Now the GPS feature is only useful in getting yourself close enough to an airport to fly somewhere else. That kills the most important thing about the game to me. -
After thinking about it all day, I still don't think it's a good change for a GPS game. GPS isn't used for hopping, only turf radius, turf limit, money, and time are. I guess from a business standpoint this change makes sense, but to those players like myself that had really traveled both in real life and in game I don't think this new 'feature' will ever sit right. 😒

But the GPS part of this game from day one has only really been there to define your starting point.
Everyone has to do some hopping and the majority of turfs placed are for these hops.
The UK is a small island and you could easily hop around the entire coast in 3-4 months (I've done much of this already so I know).
But I want to go further, much further. Why should I be limited because of where I live and the inability to visit other countries?

So we have a very limited amount of airports and limited amount of tickets. You get over those real world deadspots like oceans lol. Then hop to your destinations. It seems like a fair compromise to the GPS purists and ingame travelers. Obviously large amounts of airports or no airports is not gonna make enough ppl happy. But the GPS part of this game from day one has only really been there to define your starting point.

This reflects the difference in playing the game from each side, the UK players have a much smaller playground very much unlike the US who have thousands of miles to play in.The Canadians can hop in the US too. how do the ausies feel though?

Belial you complain about being stuck in Cali 24/7. Is it really that hard to take a weekend and fly somewhere? I mean clearly money isn't a problem and I think just about any job has some form of vacation days. Fly somewhere in real life. Travel. Vacation. That's how I got around the east coast and Canada. I go on vacations in real life and it's loads of fun placing turf while visiting. I would have never known bigbk without going to Halifax and placing a turf. With plane tickets, it doesn't matter at all where you live. Like jmanx said, it takes the "location based gps" idea of the game and kills it. Now all that matters is how close you are to an airport. Hopping is pointless unless your hopping to an airport.JmanX wrote:

This change still leaves the actual traveller with the advantage. If I travel to lax in person, I can scoot straight past the 2 mile zone and choose my turf location, whereas the airport hopper will have to get out past what is likely to be a defensive nightmare.

Exactly! One way out is enough for me and most likely the rest of the UK players.
The US is so large there probably has to be more airports though.

What happened to the submarine idea?

Ha ha, turf stargate😄OMG... fuckin' 😭🚼s.
Did police maps ruin the gps aspect? Hopping in any form is anti-gps. Like the man said, giant hop. No layovers, no travel time, a turf stargate. Hit build turf, and now u have new big green circles to place turf. (2 mi. radius implies common point Mys)
Like police maps, this is another feature I will never use but totally enjoy. Thanks nick. -
What saddens me is that I had become completely rejuvenated by this game. I've been adding codes like crazy and turf hopping out east. Now, instant reaction has me saddened by this new update. All my work I had planned on doing is pointless and I'm not a fan of constant chaos in this game. I will wait and see how things go, but I wouldn't be shocked if this makes me lose interest. We will see

I mentioned to someone else maybe 6 in the US. Seattle, LA, Chicago, Houston, NY and Miami. Plenty of hot spots spread evenly with large enough hopping gaps to make ppl still work for their coverage. Maybe 2 in the UK? Idk about the rest of the world. Haven't thought about them hahaha!!Leprechaun wrote: So we have a very limited amount of airports and limited amount of tickets. This should have been released as a separate app. Turf Wars Global.

I like the airport idea I think it will make the game so much more interesting however it only really benefits big players would be nice to have something that benefitted all/most players
-
Well people sometimes fight for capos but they don't do much. But now ppl will fight to get to an airport and it really does mean something. So that has to be good.

You gonna come back to Vegas? You gonna get your account reset again & lose your Vegas turfs?Oh man...thats right OTB, Vegas will be CRAZY!!! Hahah oh man, too much fun watching the chaos that's going to happen.

How crowded are the airports going to be there will be no space to lay turf

A common point where? In the "center" of the airport, at one of the terminals, or what? It's not clear at all.OMG... fuckin' 😭🚼s.

If they were only to hop over oceans, wouldn't you have to start in a coastal city? What if you're stuck in Bumfuck, Iowa? (Not sure I fully understood your compromise)So we have a very limited amount of airports and limited amount of tickets. You get over those real world deadspots like oceans lol. Great move. This has been a great thread nick. So much controversy!! As for me, I love the idea. Thanks nick

Lol. I've been watching the banter. I've only read about 25% of this "Non-Stop Thread". I'm kinda like this. What ever Nick throws my way I'll adapt and negotiate the changes. The days of "Top Fight" Leader board are over. The days of "Big City Capos" are concluded unless U have an Army of monsters behind U. I'm game 4 what ever. I feel the real deal in is this. 2 many have 2 much 2 lose. U will have 2 change Ur style of play. After all. Those that decided they have nothing 2 lose have everything 2 gain. & I don't need no Missery or Balerina English teacher lessons. Way I see it y'all might be better off befriending a Cat like me. Hehe. ✌out TW. As in "World Now". Wewe.

I saw there is turf in Hawaii. Shouldn't the airport there be on the first list? There is nothing they can do right now!!!

That's how I feel. I've always been indifferent to the idea. I see pros & cons. I think it's an interesting idea, definitely. I do think once a week is too often, but I'm willing to roll w/ the punches, adjust to changes and see this thing through. All anyone wants to do is cry that the sky is falling and I guess I'd prefer to keep a positive attitude and see how it goes & possibly develop new strategies & new alliances. I dunno, just me.I'm kinda like this. What ever Nick throws my way I'll adapt and negotiate the changes.

Can we trade in a plain ticket for (1) one additional turf limit. I would gladly put off travel for a few months in order to get under turf limit again. the way I see it now, plane ticket is useless to me unless I dump a couple hundred turf of $$ into the game. Neither of those seem all that appealing to me. Just my opinion,
