Did god create the devil?

Okay at risk starting a flame war I'm asking this question;
Can Christianity and evolution coexist? God created
The heavens and the earth in 7 days doesn't make sense. Look at all the evidence of evolution everywhere. If a Christian walked up to me and said something like; its possible that an all powerful being showed up and planted the seed of life and watched it grow and evolve. I may be more apt to believe him. There's so many far fetch things in that 2000 year old book that I just can't bite (ie you loose a testicle you can't get into heaven type stuff). You can believe in science and god...but maybe not science and the bible. -
Just once is like a religious person to take the stand point of "okay okay the bible was written by man and therefore flawed. God created evolution". You might actually get more sheep in your flock if you could stop and take a more logical approach. To me it actually makes sense that a super being planted a seed in the ooze 400 billion years ago and watch it grow. Sounds like a fun godly science project...if I was god that's how I'd do things...this theory explains more then the bible...let's not forget dinosaurs ...cause that shit happened.

I think organized religion is mostly an attempt to control the flock. Power through followers.

God didn't literally create the world in 7 days. It's 7 stages. Well 6. The word days is used figuratively. To god one day could be a million or a billion years. Evolution is rubbish. If it's fittest of the strongest then monkeys should have died off all together cos obviously they weren't cutting it and had to evolve.
Remember there is a difference between adaptation and evolution. -
Apparently god didn't create dinosaurs either...I get that 7 days is "god" days...but you can see evolution happening amd it's easier to build a solid case to a rational mind for evolution as opposed to for creationism. There are logical things that build a logical case for evolution...you can't say that about creationism. IMO If god exists...he planted the seed of life billions of years ago then effed off to do other godly things and tunes in from time to time to time to check in on his experiment. It's time to stop thinking in fairy tale language. God is great and smarter then us. If we can create life in a dish so can he. The bible is a work of fiction and we can now write a better and smarter book...so could god. So why do we still look up to this old school out dated book?

There is no example of your 7 stage theory in the bible. It doesn't refer to 7 of gods days. Let's not forget the book was written by men. You're merely trying to make a justification to make the book fit.God didn't literally create the world in 7 days. It's 7 stages. Well 6. The word days is used figuratively. Tell me. How can intelligence be developed? The complexity of some things on Earth is too much for natural selection to have created. Only God. Don't believe all the things you hear. Scientists give some bogus theory and everyone uses it as an excuse to hate religion. The Bible is the truth.

I like to think about it being Greek mythology rather than a religion that I'm forced to learn (one reason I stay away from religions) if your not forced into it. You'll pretty much end ip doing it. Just read some of thegreek mythology stories n you'll be hooked n see how the churches arnt so kuch the same at what they say "god" wants -

Remember there is a difference between adaptation and evolution.I've read the old and new testaments twice through. studied those as well as the apocrypha and nag hammadhi texts.
imho, the bible should all be taken figuratively as it's clear to me it relies heavily on metaphor and allegory.
when one takes the bible literally instead of figuratively, this literalism leads people astray from the wisdom it contains.
I look at the bible as full of signposts pointing the way. I think it best not to obsess on the signs themselves, but where the signs are pointing.

never forget that not only were these texts written by men, most often from stories handed down verbally, they were translated repeatedly by men.
if u compare various translations of even a single word, often the meaning of a given sentence changes dramatically.
it's also helpful when interpreting these texts that one put the writing into some kind of historical context. that sheds a lot of light on meaning, imo.
all that said, I'm agnostic. I'm not a believer. before I'd read and deeply studied these texts, I was a believer.
so I believe that god didn't make the devil and the devil didn't make god.
I believe that man created both.

All this shows is your massive lack of understanding of how evolution works. 'fittest of the strongest'? Its Survival of the fittest. That which most fits it's environment. If life was a court case , religion would be circumstantial evidence, and science would be DNA evidence .....science in my mind started in the pursuit to explain that which we couldn't ? So if there is no proof of such thing we can't explain, why do police forces use phycics? How did the sumerians know about planets that we only food out about 60 years r so ago? Not saying this is proof of religion but yet it should e enough for people to think ....hmmmmScience and religion are opposites. Faith is belief without proof.
Science is no faith. It is documented, peer reviewed evidence and demonstrable testing to arrive at the likely truth. Science is a discipline that formed to spite traditional human mysticism.
Show me the peer reviewd reproducible tests that confirm a higher intelligence that has something to do with us. Anything else is not science.

Don't believe everything scientists tell you. Scientists used to think Earth was flat. Look into it yourselves and get different opinions. All I have to say is life is too much to be a product of anything but God. Only pure people and Gods children can enter heaven, and you can only become pure and a child of God through Jesus Christ and having the Holy Spirit in you. God bless. (:

The thing I get caught up about is our definition of god! At we talking about the energy that is flowing throughout everything? Or we talking about a man who createdtge earth? And universe? If so who created him etc, I have hard time with the god theory,I like to think god Is just what humans perceive(and put in human form through time) an in actuality god would be the force that drives each of our individual cells, which evolution or not, seem to be put together amazingly well? Does energy have a consciousness or a goal or design ? Is question I prefer as opposed to is there a god?

See I don't believe this, only pure ppl etc go to heaven ? these are the bit of the story or message thy have been corrupted for the beneficial effec of ruling the masses by fear, I just believe more that there is negative and positive energy and we can charge ourselves to either or, that is all good and evil is in my book, and if there is such a order of heaven n hell...I'm sure the merciful almighty wouldn't damn people to hell for eternity as all souls can change,I believe...so maybe we would be made to learn more but if we all his children?I wouldn't send my naughty kid away an keepthe good 1,they both my children?
