Even if there is a catastrophic melt down which there probably wont be the effects would not even be close to the nuclear warheads droped on Japan in world war 2 and there where two of them droped and so far no one in japan or the west coast has been mutated by radiation and yes this sentence is a run on.

Not true, there are particles from these bombs found in all living things. And those two bombs had nothing on trinity or the bikini islands. All of those ships from the bikini tests were towed to the San Francisco bay and the contaminated debri was sunk off the Ca coast in cement filled barrels. And they could be leaking. Not many people know that SF is in fact a superfund (sp) sight.Even if there is a catastrophic melt down which there probably wont be the effects would not even be close to the nuclear warheads droped on Japan in world war 2 and there where two of them droped and so far no one in japan or the west coast has been mutated by radiation and yes this sentence is a run on.

First off dye to half-life those particle would no longer be at harmful levels. Second there's no evidence that the particles found in living tissue have any relation to the bombs. Almost everything we do in society produces radiation anyways. Don't give in to hype
-
And no downplaying the situation either. We are looking at one of the worst nuclear crisis ever right now. Even if they were to stop it at this very moment. But let's not try to make it more than it is either

U.S. Surgeon General: Buy Iodine tablets "Precaution"...why? Maybe Goverments know something that they aren't telling us... Just saying (check Drudge out)

You can achieve the same results by painting yourself with qbout 8 mg of iodine. Look there's no way that much radiation is coming to the us. Reallisticly , the worst that's going to happen is a bit of radition leakage.

A bit? Lets no forget there's not just 1 plant. There's 6. Each with several cores holding 100s tons of radioactive uranium ad waste.Reallisticly , the worst that's going to happen is a bit of radition leakage.

Now reactor #4 is on fire

What are you saying? You are privy to some secret information that nobody else has? These 40-year-old plants are designed for this. Even if there is a complete meltdown, there are underground containments. Why are you so interested in pushing a worse-than-worst case senario? I understand you are worried... Most of us are. But don't make a big deal where there is none.RetardedPanda wrote:

They have no coolig system. The sea water they are using to keep the cores cool keep turning to radioactive steam. If this effort fails the containments will not e able to hold melting uranium. It will burn through and leak. Anote possibility is containment cracking, which has already happened. These plants were not deaigned for te level of damage they have received. Japan always assumed this kind of damage would never happen. I don't mean to sound negative but that's the reality of it. Really, no one knows how serious this is right now as info is mixed.

You got core dump.!!!

Rest assured the media will drag this one out as long as possible. Not that it shouldn't be reported, just that it shouldn't be reported in such a manner that it scares the living crap out of ordinary people who in turn won't look past the tv screen to research what is actually happening.\\// 👊🔨💀 wrote:

Vadan, it seems to me that you are really afraid of what might happen, but you aren't doing your homework trying to understand what's going on. Instead you are paraphrasing what you may have seen in the media or what you heard around the water cooler at work. The end result is you may be giving an exaggerated picture of what the risks are.
I understand, and I sympathize. But 10s of thousands of people just died in a flood, and we are focusing in on maybe 300 cases of thyroid cancer and a rise in birth defects among those that live within 3 miles of the structure, and aren't following the adequate instructions given by the government to protect themselves.
