A clear, calm, educated source for info on the reactor issues in Japan that is updated regularly. May be too much detail for you, but it's in simple enough terms to chill anybody out. Links to current news provided. Props to a blogger friend of mine for the source.

To be fair I think there handling this shit well I hope it all comes good for them it's typical that a natural disaster is over shadowed by a manmade 1is all the tsunami stuff over now I doubt it and I live near a nuke plant in the uk Its hard to contemplate what could happen

There was some great advertising around the early 60's and it made everyone feel safer: "Duck and cover. That's right kids, just duck and cover". Apparently crawling under the kitchen table would save you from the effects of a 50 megaton warhead landing in your city. I seriously hope they get those local people out of the area.

The Chernobyl disaster had 1000 times this level of radiation. Reactor 4 just stored rods and was not in use so no chance of a meltdown there. The actual levels of radiation are reasonably low and unless something chases only a very small area around the plant will experience slightly higher levels of radiation. Has been way over hyped by the media. Almost as if there performance is measured on number of views.
