What do you think 20 years from now will be like
I remember being a kid watching cartoons and sci fi programs, they had small gadgets like we have now (small phones/ flat screens/ super fast computers) and flying cars ect
Always thought we never have any of that stuff in my life time yet 20 years down the line we have the iPhone
What's your thoughts on future tech??
Ot does any1 have any cool websites for up and coming new technology? -
Nano technology is the future. Self-aware robots will also happen. In depth research in to galactic colonisation. Or we'll be hit by the astroid and die. Nothing but excitement either way.

I love the microwave. Carver agrees.
-
Download engaget it's a technology news app theirs some awesome stuff happening right now! Espically if u look at the wearables section, their are already jet packs (although still not how we in vision them) and just some awesome things, I don't think 20 years time things will be too different, better gaming (come on were gamers someone had to say it!) better cars, hopefully a self cleaning house!

Engadget damn spelling

Cool I'll check it out now pyro

I'll have 2 million mob members by then

After the dollar is officially abandoned as a global reserve and as the currency that oil transactions are settled in, there will be hyperinflation which will lead to civil unrest in America that will lead to unrest worldwide as rogue nations use it as an opportunity to act upon evil agendas. In addition, normal people who have trusted their governments and moved to urban environments will starve. We will see many individuals and nations get desperate.
With that said, I think the lives of the average "westerner" will decline in quality. I expect to see wonderful advances in health care, energy, and transportations. I also expect that the average citizen will be priced out of using any of these.
Ladies and gentleman you can't max out a credit card then use another one then another one. The fractional reserve system that led to incredible growth is starting to lack the confidence of more and more central banks. When this web of interconnectedness is unwound, there will be hell to pay.

If anyone has read a book trilogy called the hunger games then I believe America will turn out like it is in the book

Nano tech for sure. My buddy works with nano tech in a particle accelerator. He came up with a hypothetical design for a space elevator. Also people are working on contact lenses with thermal vision and zoom. The contact lenses have the ability to read your body vitals and pop up in your eye. He's also designed a perpetual motion machine that creates energy. He deemed it an energy harvester. And is currently building it for his thesis. Self aware robots/cyborgs are already here. This dude infused a rat brain with some sort of conductors. It has a robotic body with infrared vision and different types of sensors in it. The brain is housed in a separate compartment that wirelessly transmits data between body and brain. The brain is somehow alive and makes all decisions for the robotic body. Stephen hawking wrote a paper stating that time travel to the future is hypothetically possible but it is impossible to go back in time.

The iron man suit is also possible. I'm pretty sure MiT was working on it but they made it with a plug in. So now they have to find a viable power source that doesn't require you to plug it into a wall. My buddy who works in the particle accelerator said he thinks he knows how to do it but will not share his theories because it will be used for evil and destruction.

Oh and beam me up Scotty. The technology to break down materials transport them and rebuild them is here too. I think the record is 1cm square fabric across 3 meters is what has been done. People won't run out of food so long as we stop eating everything at the top of the food chain and start eating things lower down like insects.

20 years from now my apple IBorg will enter codes all day for me and my mob will be average will 1.5 Billion members

He said if he could meet one person it would have been nikola tesla.

Contact lenses are not in a position to place focused images on the retina. Optics don't work that way. Do you have more info on this? It would have to be stacked lenses within the lens, combined with a light source, and an extremely tiny (microscopic) resolving display, and I don't think we are anywhere near that.
Maybe somebody should tell your friend that perpetual motion is quite impossible before he actually submits such an embarrassing thesis? I mean he's breaking the first and/or second law(s) of thermodynamics. Make sure he actually gets it working before he submits the design. 😄
-
Maybe you actually have no clue what you are talking about for once.
The contact lenses are being designed for the US military. They are no where near being finished nor did I say they were. These are what they are working on. They don't expect to have them in the field for at least another 10 years. The title of the thread is 20 years from now not tomorrow.
As for the perpetual motion machine he has actually already started building it. He has already proved that it is possible through his math. There is this material that creates energy everytime it bends. By creating energy it powers a nano tech machine and the machine keeps bending the material over and over creating more energy then it uses. Therefore perpetual motion. This is for his masters, his profs said he is doing the work of 4 phds for his masters. Therefore, he is only the third person in his field to ever be offered direct transfer to phd because he has proved it possible. -
He is almost finished building it and has already been given a contract by a company for this technology. A form of these will also be put into soldiers boots so that as they walk they wirelessly power everything they are carrying.(wireless energy transfer, teslas work)
He has also called the publishers of text books telling them that there equations are wrong. He came across this while working on his perpetual motion device. They have gotten back to him saying that he is correct and they have been wrong for 20-30 years. So if you think you know, well, now you know -
Sorry that first line is combatitive. What I meant was you are always on point and this time you were saying that someone who is incredibly brilliant is wrong in his own field.
-
I read up on the contacts. It's science fiction. The people working on it have no clue how it would work, only that they found organic electronics that are small and safe in contacts. The military research is much different, and has nothing to do with contacts generating the image, but rather eyeglasses projecting a hologram onto contacts. The idea that the lenses themselves can sense, process, resolve, focus, and project a digital image is entirely optimistic science fiction. So I have to classify that with inter-stellar manned flight.
-
As for the perpetual motion device... Perhaps what your friend is working on are very new and ground-breaking... But it simply can't be a true perpetual motion machine. Perhaps you are mis-quoting him? Perpetual motion is the oldest crack-pot goal in science. Even cold fusion is more likely to be discovered. A true perpetual motion machine would turn the entire physics world on its head. It would be blaring at us on every news channel, physicists would be jumping off tall buildings.. You are telling us that your friend has complely overturned the laws of thermodynamics, shared this with others, and the story is breaking here on Turf Wars? I'm sorry, I find that to be unbelievable.

20 years from now, hmm, Im beginning to think that whatever we could Concieve would happen, will and beyond, from a technology standpoint, how about 20yrs from now politically and people wise? Do u think we are in for a ww3 ,I hope not, but just asking? Do u see unrest in the world, worse before better ?
