Combat Updates
Forums › General Discussion › Combat Updates-
Starting on December 23rd, we will be releasing a change to the combat system. This change will enable you to attack players who have turf within your attack radius (1000mi), even if they are outside this radius. Previously you could only attack their turf (but not them) if they were > 1000 miles from you.
Some Affected Scenarios:
- Players with turf in distant countries may now be attacked by players in that country (before these players could only attack the travalling player's turf)
- Vendettas: eliminates the "one-way" issue where a distant player could assist in attack but not defense. i.e. Player 1 lives in Florida and has turf in LA, and joins several LA players in a vendetta. Previously this player could assist in attacks against players/turf in LA, but could not assist in defense if the LA-based players were attacked. With the new update they will be able to assist in attack/defense as long as they maintain turf in LA.

Nice, should be good!

what a great xmas present. thank you.
-
Will be good to try this out. I see many vendettas starting soon

Nick, just checking for clarification here so bear with me. As things are right now if you are in an out of range V you only attack with the vendetta if you are the one attacking, if a local is doing the attacking you are not used on the offensive side either. Does this update fix that as well?

Nice! 👍

I'd like to see your gps location used in the calculation of the outcome of attacks. The further away you are from your target, the less effective the attack. It is that way in the real world and it would put the gps component back into the game for us larger players. Right now all we have to go is go or hop to a new town and then outgun everyone and take it over. But if our attacks were less effective the further we were from our actual location, it would make it more of a challenge.

Load of crap don't even know why there is a silly 1000mi rule anyway
-
bravo Nick, thanks!

Well need to test this vendetta attack scenario....

That is not the problem.Viper 👊🔨💀 wrote:

This..
Is going to be fun!!!
Awesome fixes. Probably the best yet!!

Ok, so as an example my turf on the west coast (Seattle) has a 1000 mile radius in which I can now be fully utilized even though I am 1400+ miles from it and my DC turf will have the same radius allowing me to fully work with the Florida crews? Sorry to be a pest Nick but I've been baked by this glitch several times and want to make sure I have it straight.
-
not being a pest imo, as a few of us have that exact q. getting clarity upfront prob a good idea.
I do think the glitch is fixed though, and if so, second what Charlie said. best update yet!

Nice.

No problem, it gets pretty complicated when you add vendettas to the mix. Trust me, I have to write the code for the multiple different cases :).Ok, so as an example my turf on the west coast (Seattle) has a 1000 mile radius in which I can now be fully utilized even though I am 1400+ miles from it and my DC turf will have the same radius allowing me to fully work with the Florida crews? To answer your question, YES. Under the current system if you join a vendetta against a player in Seattle or Florida you can only be involved in combat when your side is attacking. If the opposing player/opposing vendetta's members attack your buddies (or their turf) in Seattle/Florida then you sit out. The updated system fixes this case - you'll be included on defense starting December 23rd.
-
I get what ypure asking, viper. Originally, yes, you'd be included in attack assists when you weren't the attacker, but for the past month or so (maybe more), that part was broken and out of range players weren't even being included in attacks. So nick, THAT part is fixed as of now & the defense changes will occur as of the 23rd?
