And I'm still about 200 under limit. So I need a new city to pillage.

Identifying signs of TurfHugging
Dirty Bastards Labs thought that it would be helpful to post five of the telltale signs for you to look for that you may be dealing with a turfhugger and how to properly perform an intervention.
1. Look at their turf list. Is it ALL turf that they created themselves? Do all the turfs have the same name? Maybe some cute emoji icons in them? You are dealing with a full blown farmer here. It might actually be too late for this person. Proceed immediately to the intervention section. Their lives depend on it.
2. Do they create turf in patterns on the map? This is a HUGE cry for help!
3. Do they do all their fighting in vendettas? These are mobsters that are in the process of losing their way. Instinctively they know that they need to fight and pillage but they just can’t bring themselves to go at it without a massive amount of support from other mobsters that are also suffering with this addiction. They will slowly but surely drop into pacifism together.
-
4. Look at their comments. Do they contain pleasant little snippets of conversation? Wishes for a “nice day” and other such nonsense? Jackpot! This is like stumbling into a shooting gallery when everyone is on the nod. Not only have you identified a hugger but you have found a list of names of other self-confessed huggers that are all crying out for help. This should keep you busy for a while.
5. Lastly, do they whine about it when you cap them? It is great to find someone in these early stages. Their hope of being restored to depravity is really quite high.

Now the Intervention
This is the hardest part. First try the gentle approach. Take them quietly aside and jab a shank up the the hilt into their back, right around the kidneys, give it a gentle twist and ask them if there is anything they’d like to talk about.
Confront them with what you have seen and invite them to come to turfhuggers anonymous with you. You will get a more positive response if you use an AR-15 to deliver the invitation.Expect denial. They may point to a turf that they capped as “proof” that they are really ok. Don’t be fooled. In most cases you will see that turf is from someone that is roughly their size. That is their irresistible urge to “play fair” coming through. Use an RPG to re-educate them. If that doesn’t work, use something bigger and more fun. Like a car bomb. Above all, don’t take NO for an answer.

The whole point it to get them to TurfHuggers Anonymous. If nothing else works, duct tape them and throw them in the trunk of your car. (Those huge trunks are not JUST for body disposal and gun running you know.)
No matter how persuasive you are, some people will never see where they are headed until they reach rock bottom. Cheer up! You get to create that rock bottom for them! Throw everything at them but the kitchen sink. Then fill the sink with grenades and throw that too! Fun huh? Keep this up until they learn.
Finally, make sure that you leave them a turf in the area to rebuild from. While this might sound like you are being merciful and soft, nothing could be further from the truth. As long as you leave them the option of rebuilding their empire, you get to kill them again and again.

Excuse me for coming in late to this meeting but I was sorta *mumblemumble* at a public speaking workshop. I was curious and wanted to ask some of you old timers in recovery if it is a good idea to deal with someone you think might need help, but is also a friend you don't have the mob to cap from, by forcing their hand and taking capo status from them in numerous cities by building turf? What if they don't understand or believe you just want what's best for them? Is it worth the risk? And what other options should be considered? Can piggybacking turf for protection $ also work, if I do enough? Should the turf names be taunts? I need some good ideas, the tips and stories that can only come from those that have seen it all...
-
Jim when are you going to live by your own standard? I have yet to see you stfu amd play
-
I have real life and it takes front seat...

we strongly encourage you join our 12 step program of capping 12 turf per day per player.also, if you feel someone needs to be helped, let us know we will help them come to terms with their loss and show them how much more they could be loosing

Nice to see someone picking up the mantle. To show my gratitude I capped a turf and sent you a car bomb an some shoes. They look good on you. You know, concrete really IS your color...

Ok, I made the coffee and troggy brought the donuts. Let's get this meeting started. My name is Jim and I'm a turf hugger. The last time I "played nice" was over 1500 turf ago. I just recently ended a minor battle in Toronto with a couple of yahoos and even though I kicked the crap outta them I can't shake the feeling that I should have done more. Those old pacifist tendencies are right there at the surface. Does that mean I'm in relapse mode? What should I do?

Hello everyone. My name is Groucho and I'm a turf hugger although I'm trying to change my evil ways.
I too was involved with the recent Toronto battle and turned my Tommies on a former friend for a good cause.
After running out of turf that was in range in Toronto, but still being under my daily limit on this particular player, my inner-mobster got the best of me and I started capping turf elsewhere!
I got the following message from this now former friend:
༺r̸e̸d̸f̸o̸x̸༻ says:
Bro give it up man your a straight up asshole now that u dis this.Shortly thereafter, the V had ended and the fun was over. I felt alive in the rage of war, like there was hope for me yet! But it was brief -- then sadness set in, knowing that I was going back to turf hugger land.
Thanks to my sponsor Jim Dirt for giving me hope in Toronto.
-
You are welcome Groucho. It was fun wasn't it. The 4am attacks, the constant vigilance, the paranoia. Life is good.

My Name is Troggy,
And I had a relapse, I petted my turfs, I played with them, encouraged them, I even allowed loot to be placed near them.
I even named one 🙎👊 , he was a good turf, it was when i lost him that i realized what i was doing......
so i opened the map and just started capping.....
I started with the loot first....didn't even check mob size, just tried to cap and if it worked it worked, if not then onto the next.....it felt great....in fact I'm gonna do some more right now......
-
My name says it all...
I started as a turfhugger, but have been shown the error of my ways, mostly by midnite, but honorable mention must go to vw-tdi, wec, and of course Jim Dirt himself. I now strive to follow the path and search for high ratios👣👣 -
I will use this post as an excuse to go on frequent capping sprees.

I thought this was a silly thread then and I think it's a silly thread now. Full of the op's philosophy more than anything
-
Yep. It's a silly thread. Just an attempt to entertain. I'm thinking we should start meetings again...
-
I've largely ignored the forums cause lately they have all been silly little threads. I enjoy threads that people put a little thought into. Are most people just not up for that sort of thing?

Looking at my turf list, practically all my turf have the same format name- (City, State, Country Abbreviation). I rarely cap without a vendetta. Am I suffering from turf hugging? 😢 -
So is this disease still running rampant here?
