Turf Wars Villains
Forums › General Discussion › Turf Wars Villains-
Was talking with jmanx yesterday and thought I'd put this out there to everyone. This game seems to have no real villains that I can see. Are there any? What would you say makes a good turf wars villain?

Plenty of villains in the UK
-
Thuglife

So what made these players great villains? What did they do?
-
Is there a difference between villain n bully in this game? Would !devil! Aka !!the bull!!'s comments make him a villain or just a fvck rag? Hmm
-
I reckon to be a villain you just destroy anything in your path without any mercy or pity, until challenged by a superman/woman lol

No. Devils comments are just rude. That's not a villain, that's being an ass. I guess what I'm trying to get at here is that turf wars needs villains just like any good story needs them. Without villains, what do the "good guys" have to shoot at? If you had to invent the perfect villain what would they do?
-
I'm a ikle villain 😠 na im a good guy that gets a bit carried away with turf sometimes 😏
-
(sorry I didn't respond Jim, got busy)
I consider a villain (in the context of this game) to be someone who fights and plays in a detrimental way to other players.
I think one of the players who for awhile was Putz. Not that he's a bad guy, but he definitely played a villain character for awhile there. He did what he wanted, didn't care what people though even when everyone was upset with him, and fought off everyone refusing to go down. It was definitely a good example of someone playing that villain role. (although I'd no longer characterize him that).

Jim I've been waiting for this thread. This game needs villains. Without villains players lose the incentive to mob up, learn strategy, and connect with other players. GC3 fillied that role partially in California fir a while, but California is in definite need of a an evil entity. Who will rise as leader of a new dark side?

I believe that I am the most hated person in turf wars. So I don't think that makes me a villain
-
My family and I play a lot of board games and in some the players take on roles. I notice that people are reluctant to play the villains an wonder why. Maybe they aren't secure with themselves or something and can't stand the concept of being the bad guy...
-
Turf war for me has devolved into just a bunch of people all trying to help each other out and put down any real attempts to play the game. With no villains the forums are all that turfwars has left. Does that describe your experience as well?
I have an elegant and simple idea that I'd like to discuss but I don't know if the forum is the place to do it. PM me for more.

Tho he's a cornball to me, Thuglife held that evil crown for a grip.
But then real competition came and he dropped inf on every turf he had.
-
I was the most hated for a real good while multiple times lol

No way you're the most hated person...I have no idea who you are and I love to hate people!
-
@thefish: I don't know if there is a need for a "dark side" or a "leader". Sometime total frakking chaos is fun.
-
@bullyman: What's wrong with dropping inf? It is a part of the game. When playing other games do you not avail yourself of every opportunity that the game rules present?

I would simply call that an opponent. A person can do those things that you describe and still be a good sport. Are you referring to people that are simply rude about it?I consider a villain (in the context of this game) to be someone who fights and plays in a detrimental way to other players.

yes, chaos is fun, but it's very easy to defeat chaos unless it becomes viral. I think a whole bunch of people should make it their mission to play this game without regard for anyone. Play the game to get people mob up or quit.@thefish: I don't know if there is a need for a "dark side" or a "leader". Sometime total frakking chaos is fun.

No alliance, no leadership, just be the Antithesis of the social player. Remember mini mogul?
-
Yeah, teams do have a definite advantage. The trouble is that everyone wants to see such a team arise but no one wants to be in it. (chickens)
You need a special breed of person. One that 1. doesn't mind getting bloody 2. can remain cheerful when all are against them in the game and 3. is willing to be helpful to those they are attacking is those people man up and ask for it... Have I left any important traits out? -

Yeah but minimogul refused to dialog with those that he was attacking. If he had been more social, perhaps he would have been sharing the city of reno with someone today... Point is you can still be social and have a different agenda than your adversaries. No alliance, no leadership, just be the Antithesis of the social player. Remember mini mogul?

When playing board games with people I've had many occasions where I was clobbering someone that was new to the game when they asked "what should I do?" I'd give them an honest "If I was in your shoes right now, I'd..... and this is why...." kind of answer.

Doing this keeps the gameplay friendly (even though you are killing them) and give them something to shoot for in the future. When playing board games with people I've had many occasions where I was clobbering someone that was new to the game when they asked "what should I do?"
