Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh!
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,
Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh!
'Sé do bheatha a bhean ba léanmhar,
B' é ár gcreach tú bheith i ngéibhinn,
Do dhúiche bhreá i seilibh meirleach...
Is tú díolta leis na Gallaibh!
Tá Gráinne Mhaol ag teacht thar sáile,
Óglaigh armtha léi mar gharda,
Gaeil iad féin is ní Gaill ná Spáinnigh...
Is cuirfidh siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh!
A bhuí le Rí na bhFeart go bhfeiceann,
Muna mbíonn beo ina dhiaidh ach seachtain,
Gráinne Mhaol is míle gaiscíoch...
Ag fógairt fáin ar Ghallaibh! -
They may have a water canon - our boys have slurry tanks.
I know what'll win 🇮🇪🇮🇪

It’s generational. As mr. O’Casey has pointed out, people will vote for the ‘sure they get the potholes fixed’ brigade.༺ ᗪᗰᒪ ༻ wrote:

No matter how bad the scum.
I do agree FF FG need to be out of govt to realise they’re out of touch, but their voter base has been shrinking every decade and they’re on their last legs anyway. They’ve only 2, maybe 3, terms of relevance left anyway. Thats 10-15 years tops.
But those generations are dying out.
Unfortunately, when it comes to voting, there’s still a cohort of people that don’t understand politics and policies and simply vote how their parents vote, another stem of keeping pothole voting alive. -
However, the good news is that’s all coming to an end.
The two main parties have, since the foundation of the state, polled approx 81-83% of the electorate.
That all changed since the late 90’s, early 00’s when it dropped to about 60%.
Since then it’s dropped to about 40% and in continuing decline as people get fed up with the same old story of 100 years of two parties dominating the political landscape. Demographics are changing and younger generations no longer identify with what they stand for.
FF FG will soon find, even with each other and some willing coalition partners, they don’t and won’t have the numbers to form govt.
The last two general elections illustrated that.
They’re now on borrowed time.
People haven’t forgotten 2008 and the following years just adds to that. -

This is a massive issue in rural areas. My own area, they used to only vote for heather Humphreys as she is local - people continue to vote for them because of the connection

Correct. And kids will say, dad, ma, I dunno who I should vote for? And they’ll advise about the good old FF party family who’ve had a politician since the war of independence.Unfortunately, when it comes to voting, there’s still a cohort of people that don’t understand politics and policies and simply vote how their parents vote, another stem of keeping pothole voting alive.

There is very little choice, but the options of maintaining the old system is at an end. -
Its funny to see GardaWorld instead of G4S in that part of the world

An Garda Síochána (translates to Guardian of the peace)
Weren't so peaceful in White gate - cork.
Pepper sprayed, attacked and dragged people from their vehicles.
The police state of Ireland - the BLACK AND TANS NEVER LEFT, THEY JUST CHANGED UNIFORMS

The commissioner just gave a statement that they'll do it again in the next few hours/days.
So this will turn very very nasty very quickly
