Cuba is a sovereign nation!! How dare they not be allowed nuclear defense?!? If the Cubans want freedom and independence, they should fight for it!!
Yeah, we do the same thing. It’s a chess game. And I hate to break it to you…. The other chess player is not evil for taking a pawn in this case. War is a legal move, sorry.

I don’t recall the US military invasion of Cuba in which the US government proclamation to the world was it now is a part of the US. In fact it’s been a very long time since the US military invaded , occupied and the. Our government declared it is ours. The last one I recall was Mexico, you might argue Hawaii - but that isn’t quite the same how Hawaii’s annexation came to be.

You first. Tell me how this money solves our rent and grocery problems. Or is this more of a concept of an idea for now?

..You see, the United States of America is entirely immune to invasion due to our resources and our geography. Until we reached that point, we annexed, baby. Now, if in some strange alternate universe Washington, DC was located within a short (albeit cold) march of armies that have historically come in from time to time to murder us by the millions.. I think we would try to maintain a geographic buffer zone.. by force if necessary. Like Alaska, but closer.
Those Inuits up there share our national heritage after all. They can’t just decide to be independent one day, and then join forces with the Russians next door.. I mean.. We built that highway ourselves, dammit.

I'm not the guy who writes policies, but what I can tell you is Americans are struggling and over $100 billion dollars can be used to help struggling AMERICANS. Not playing geopolitics with a corrupt government in Ukraine. So it's Russian propaganda to not follow along with the mainstream media narrative. I made valid points and your only response is to tell me to shut up. Word great counterpoints

Ukraine is working hard to attack corruption and is making quantifiable gains. Kicking out Russian sympathizers will aid this.

Support for an Ukraine is 5% of the defense budget, not money to dig people out of grocery and rent paying problems. This is not money that can just be spent on whatever on a whim. It is not interchangeable.

I would like 1% of 1% of the fed budget (our tax $$) being used for bullshit initiatives. Initiatives are “special projects” that are usually partisan in nature. So they can get laws passed or provide specific congressional funding towards them so they float grants for doing research, marketing, test groups, think tanks, education and the like: How much CO2 do MAGA members in Kentucky emit annually vs CO2 emissions of a socialists in Rhode Island- then educate the masses on the findings of MAGA is disproportionately causing global warming and should be outlawed

2023: $816 billion
2022: $782 billion
2021: $753 billion
2020: $738 billion
2019: $686 billion
2018: $665 billion
2017: $611 billion
2016: $604 billion
2015: $586 billion
2014: $581 billion
Here is the defense spending budget over the last 10 years that congress approved. Do we see a problem here??? So you also say we need to counter authoritarian countries..so why do we sell Saudi Arabia billions of dollars in weapons to bomb Yemen. Then sell weapons to Israel to bomb Lebanon, Gaza, Syria etc... Fund radical islamist insurgency groups in the middle east. News flash it's not about being the good guys it's about maintaining global hegemony in the world.

So the DoD contributes 0.2% annually to CO2 emissions. That's roughly 70 million metric tons a year. Neither of those groups you mention even put a slight dent in contributing to the global amount

Considering inflation, I think it’s actually going down. But I guess 5% of that wouldn’t be enough to cover inflation for us after all. Dang.

Steven, if the US severely cut back on defense spending, and allowed other countries to catch up or exceed our technologies, we would be proper fucked. The only problem I see is the excess of CO2 spewing forth from your lips.

Could you imagine what 5% of the defense budget can do to secure our boarder, create new jobs assisting the homeless and drug addicted people of America?
Yea no, lets go and fund a war for made up reasons.

I am an independent and disagree with one party being more pro humanity than the other. Vote for the appropriate candidate that best matches your views.anyone who votes purely to the echo chamber of party lines, in my view, is part of the problem & not helping

Thats sounds like direct fear mongering propaganda that military generals tell congress to justify increasing military spending budget lol. 10-15% of the budget goes towards R&D which would be gaining new technologies. In a capitalist system war profiteering and fear mongering is what generates significant revenue for these special interests groups. I don't get why you think that voting blue means something. No matter if it's red or blue they don't care about you lol. None of us matter and we are all expendable in the grand scheme. Again with throwing insults for no reason. I thought democrats were supposed to be tolerant of other people's viewpoints

Kinda like Dem Pelosi’s husband selling off 500k in Visa stocks just prior to DOJ filing a particularly massive lawsuit against Visa. Nothing to see here, move along, he is just psychic. Dems will always put you and yours first. Same with Repubs. They know what is best for you- keep quiet and leave them alone
