Politicians want money- money for campaigns and money to fund the govt projects they champion. The government prints money but doesn’t generate it. The people do. To get money they have to create a tax a fee or issue bonds(loans). New taxes are a deathknell for the politician who requested them. So play up the housing market and then manipulate the market so that property taxes and transfer of ownership happen more to generate income. Manipulate the cost of goods via inflation so that sales tax increases. Raise the minimum wage so that income taxes raise but pay employees above minimum wage so that impacting doesn’t happen. Don’t sweat the fact that the promise of a better financial life for the working poor never happens. In fact it got worse. That’s for the next generation to solve.

People have a different mechanism- if they need more money they get another job, steal or reallocate money they do have to align with their priorities.

During the state of the union- several “answers” were provided as solutions via create additional funding to create tens of thousands of jobs in specific sectors. Interesting and feel good moment. No one disclosed how many vacancies are currently in those sectors- which, by the way is well over 14%. So yeah throw money at a problem but don’t really address the problem. What you have a problem with isn’t working, don’t change the approach- just throw money at it so there are more broken parts of the same old same old.

I watched Biden’s state of the union address. He actually surprised me, and made a lot of points that I do agree with. However, I just always assume he is actually doing the opposite of what he says. I fully agree with him limiting tax cuts for the super rich. I just can’t ignore the border issues and the fact that groceries cost an arm and a leg while claiming inflation is slower today than anywhere in the world. I would hope it would slow for a while after everything got 75% more expensive overall since 2020.🤣

No because it is a federal issue not a state issue. That is the distinction. Right now it is all Biden’s fault for breaking the law in the first place. Abbot is just trying to find a solution to the huge problem you voted for.

Its quite amazing that roger will not admit there is a problem while these these things are happening on our border. Has roger spoken with the families who had their children taken and used for human trafficking purposes? Has he seen the human caravan woman men and children traveling on foot to storm the US border?
I have and its a real issue when you have a city population density of 10k with only 12 ERs suddenly flooded with 8,000 more people. The city does not have the resources and roger does not have the money to support with his charity to house and offer care for these people and neither can the rest of the American people.

Ironically the border states minus Cali are red, so yeah flood them with undocs to cripple their economy and increase blue voters from their offspring . It’s definitely not a political stunt.

Main and New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island get upset because those red states should do more to support the undocs, it’s inhumane. Don’t call them illegal, they are undocs. But when those states say, “you are right , here you go, do better than we can”. It becomes “WTF do you think you’re doing? This has to be against the law!!”
