Went to the Lego store at Disney with the kids. A female looking cashier checked us out. The name tag said that their name was Max and they prefer the pronouns him or they.
Now listen, if you’re over 18 I don’t give a shit what you want to be or what you’re called but….
As a general customer in a store… can someone possibly explain why this needs to be on a name tag? Do I need to know? Do I need it shoved in my face? Do I need it shoved in my kids faces? What the fuck is the point?
What’s next? “Your cashier’s name is Viking, HE likes foot stuff and p*ssy pumps”. Is that not enough information? What else should someone have listed on their name tag so that the customer knows?

Hang ups, pet peeves, types of jokes preferred, language preferences, level of education, tax filing status and if they have health insurance or not.

It’s extremely rare they are acknowledged at all. When they are it’s usually by a Karen anyways. The last time you bought groceries did you use pronouns when speaking with the cashier? They have a name tag & of the 2% of time people do speak to them as a real person, they use the name listed on the name tag & not her/hers, he/his…

Inclusion and welcoming environments towards all and not being a sick to others is a good thing. Going beyond what is needed to make a statement, ,is in my mind, creates an environment where one stands out and is highlighted to call attention to them so that everyone knows that they should also be respected equally to their peers . I get it - but it is sooo oxymoronic and hyped.
