A junkie going to get heroin may get killed by another trying to rip him off or the dealer, or die by OD. When that happens, there are no protests and the risk is known to the junkie. Resisting arrest, trying to evade arrest shouldn’t result in death. The cop was charged and found guilty- at the end of the day it comes down to if you play stupid games you may win stupid prizes. To expect the police to say “excuse me sir, may I ask a few questions” and treat inebriated or mentally ill persons ,after being called by citizens who are reporting a problem as if they are your 78 year old grandmother is also ridiculous. They must approach them assuming they are armed and dangerous to protect themselves and the public around them.

I don't think Biden was many peoples first choice but compared to the senile old narcasist who was the other option we really dodged a bullet. Also, it wasn’t necessarily the fact that George was getting detained, it was the fact that a cop rocked his body weight on the neck of a submitted man. That’s what was fucked up. I don’t like it when people are like “whaaa? He’s a criminal and the cops came! Big deal!”
Nah. That cop is a murderer and totally “protected and served” the shit out of the citizens around him begging him to let George breathe.

I don’t even see why Trump is a part of this conversation. If he created a deadline, PUSH THE DEADLINE. Biden must’ve thought it was a terrific plan if he stuck to it.

Sorry but it's simply a fact that trump signed the treaty with the taliban that set up the American withdrawal. All biden did was delay it a bit.
Though this is very firmly trumps defeat, we must remember the world isn't black and white. Biden definitely deserves criticism for not recognising the sheer shittiness of the situation trump had left things in and deciding to just delay it a little.

I suspect it was a political decision. He knew trump had fucked up massively but Afghanistan was a mess that needed to end so best to let it end as another blow to the republicans. Pretty common early admin trick.Thinking about it logically, Biden says he wants to save American lives and screw the Afghans (effectively) ... That will piss off the left. But what are the republicans going to do about it? They're hardly going to be able to position themselves as the let's sacrifice more American soldiers for Afghanistan party. Biden is a centrist. This is a valid political position. Many would argue a smart one too. As much as the left may cry that Sanders isn't president, in picking a centrist the Democrats have been able to leech away a lot of moderate Conservatives who are put off by the toxicity of trumpism.
Its a fundamental fact of the two party system. If one party goes too extreme then the other can really sweep the centre. -

Our options were as follows: Trump, the allegedly pedophilic publicly douchey guy who actually gave a fuck about our soldiers but acted like he gave zero fucks about the country (yes the jobs he helped count but civil rights being denied also count.)
