Rough guess schools and transportation and some entertainment (sporting, plays, movies, etc) might eventually require some sort of vaccine Passport (hopefully digital as an option). Mostly because it is going to take years to get the virus fully under control world wide and it likely will keep mutating.
In any case, hope everyone is well and safe. Been oop for a while (my mom died a few weeks ago so was visiting her a lot beforehand.) Wife is all vaccinated now and my last shot is tomorrow...a relief as I had double pneumonia as a kid and never ever want to have that feeling like you are breathing in a slurry of stinging bees with every breath (that is all I remember of that time except for a priest playing cribbage with me for several weeks in the hospital :)).
Later. Don’t be a statistic!

Everyone is a statistic for one side or the other. 😒

Facism? Are you serious? You already need to get a bunch of vaccines to participate in society. Those are the reasons you went to school and can travel abroad to many countries. We can only beat the virus if more than the “normies” get it, that’s how herd immunity actually works. Please don’t refuse the vaccine because it’s “facism” or you think I’m a “normie” or something. I hate that the US has decided vaccination is a political issue as well, hence the “Biden passport” in the title. This virus and its very serious side effects don’t care who you voted for!★ 𝕯 ★ wrote:

Good point Persephone. Pfizer is on the cusp of being “fully approved”, but the process to get emergency approval is no less rigorous, especially in the US. There’s a reason we haven’t had any issues with the three vaccines in the US outside of traditional allergic reactions. AstraZeneca, the vaccine that has a potential issue, is not given here and was stopped when the issues began. The FDA is designed to stop stuff like that from happening, and the data shows they have done an excellent job so far. And for the anti-government, this is backed up by research around the world as well.

You can’t just make shit up to meet your agenda. Try researching, it takes 30 seconds on google.

That isn’t quite true. Polio vaccine was tested on kids in school for just under one year (400k+ with vaccine, 200k+ with placebo) and after determining the 80-90% vaccine efficiency it went quickly into mass vaccinations. A lot depends on the urgency (pandemic vs things that impact general population significantly less...plus in a pandemic you tend to get more of test groups being impacted by whatever the vaccine is targeting...can’t just grab a bunch of prisoners and infect them as test cases as they once did). And of course technology and modeling has improved immensely over the years (one reason we have choices now for covid vaccines).‡☠ѺⱤǷӇΞƲδ☠‡ wrote:

And, with over 150 million shots in people’s arms already in the US with no deaths found to be attributed to the vaccines in the US (so far), it is likely way past the phase where they would normally fully approve the vaccines. Interestingly the mRNA vaccines are flushed from the body entirely after they have done their job tricking the body into producing the same antibodies that covid would produce...all without injecting any covid itself (neither dead, alive, or fragments). The process is an interesting read (it has been under development for decades).

In case you are having trouble sifting through all the Fox News tripe about that incident (they didn’t start plastering the web with it until desantis did his double lie), here is one reference to it (from MEDPage website): The local CBS affiliate followed up on this report and asked the chief medical examiner for Orange and Osceola counties, Joshua Stephany, MD, about the case. The medical examiner responded that, following the motorcycle crash, "the person was subsequently hospitalized for a long period of time, got pneumonia. It happened to be COVID pneumonia, and they died.... In that case, we did [attribute] it to COVID pneumonia." But of course the lie sounded better to Covid deniers. IIRC they took it off the covid list anyway...what is one less death. In any case the overall covid death count is too low anyway...last I checked the 550k+ US deaths was low by 40k...gets less relevant the more deaths we get.

Desantis signed an executive order curtailing vaccine pasports

In all seriousness they’ve been trying to develop a coronavirus vaccine for years. They’ve run into the same problem over and over and over again. You can read all about it here if you’re actually curious.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7318931/
So excuse me if I don’t rush to get a vaccine that they haven’t been able to figure out in the last 50 years without causing people severe lung damage.

Big problem with that old article...it wasn’t describing previous attempts at corona virus vaccines (there was only one solid attempt back when the original sars came out but that was an mRNA based attempt that lost funding as soon as that virus was quickly brought under control. The mRNA and even JJ vaccines don’t use whole body viruses which if I recall was linked to the lung issues. In fact they haven’t seen any signs of that issue in testing. Guys, the problem isn’t the vaccine. The problem is holding people who want to make their own decisions for their own body HOSTAGE. THAT’S the issue. Not covid, not vaccinations, but not letting a specific group of people have the freedom like others.
That actually IS fascism. And I swear to god, people saying that “meh, you need other vaccines to participate in society” are completely brain dead. We’re not talking about enrollment in a 4 year school, we’re talking about needing a passport to see.a.fucking.movie.

To Simon’s point I’m not getting one. Thankfully I work for myself and live in a state where my governor won’t force me to get one. Everyone should have that choice not just entitled fucks like me.

Yes, I do. Mostly since there is no evidence that the lung issues you mentioned are even remotely related to mRNA vaccine nor any covid virus vaccine that has been approved for that matter...and they specifically tested for that as a matter of standard protocol. Now, covid does permanently damage your lungs, and even in cases that are asymptomatic they detected early on damage in one lobe, sometimes both lobes. Luckily people have excess lung capacity so won’t notice issues until they get older. Ref U of Minn study.χɑɱɓɭɛɾ🌴CͣAͩPͩ wrote:

And really, I agree that people should have the right to make their own decisions on things like skipping vaccines...as long as they accept the consequences. However people that spread misinformation that causes other people to get critically ill or lose there life just so they can justify their own decisions? That is something I choose not to ignore. Already lost one classmate to covid because he was convinced it was a hoax and will fight like hell not to lose any more. And when the people fighting against vaccines feel it is their own inalienable right to go forth and risk spreading the virus by ignoring masking or social distancing, well then the subsequent deaths are on them. When we are still getting 50k new cases per day and 1000+ deaths per day (likely a surprise to everyone involved) we still have a horrible messaging problem in the US. Check out the ABC article today on people dying while waiting for vaccine appointments. It is informative but sad.

👆Yup and this proves my point. Making it political is inevitable just like the rest of “forced inoculation” in the past. I don’t like fascism but it looks like you are ok with it since, “lOoK aT aLl ThE oThEr LaWs PaSsEd”
“What we witness today is the true form of fascism, and the media’s got everyone bent over and taking like a champ, and lovin every bit of it.“
Funny how we got rid of the boogie man Orangeman because of this ideology and you elected someone who actually meets those authoritarian requirements.

Isn’t covid over? I thought Biden was gonna have it wiped out since trump handled it so poorly. Gotta figure w millions of vaccines and the new leadership it’s over. Whew back to normal life.
