Some of the big fights in the beginning took less turf and less money. I remember when i thought people using 100 turf to fight was crazy. I remember only having 10 free turf to hop with. I remember not wanting to spend $5 on a iphone game. Things like those seem insignificant now. I have a 1000 free turf and use hundreds to hop and i see no problem spending thousands on this game. And there are plenty that have way more turf and have spent way more than i have. JM is right. Find your place and make your own stories. Try to outshine those that come before you.

If you hear people talk about pins, 1 inf turfs were actucally pins. 📍- I started my first account "Vizihno" just before the pins went away. You also used to be able to go low influence and become uncappable at the price of not having income. That was useful in wars back then until that was changed. Das Hyena was crazy. \V/ could hop like a motherfucker. Airports didn't exist, you had to go places, so getting capped out meant more. That's all I got. Good times.

Back then, there were a lot more crews, and a lot more wars. Crews tended to be smaller than now, but we would form alliances with other crews to help fight. There were huge wars that lasted months (or longer) that occurred all over the world. One of the first mega wars I remember was DBR vs. TWCF — a huge war of mostly (all?) UK players and two of the stronger crews at the time. Even Australia had a large, formidable crew lead by a woman named Missy.

One of my favorite moments were the 😡ҝعყʂعཞ😈Տȫƶع😡 and ℣ϊ₭ϊ₦Ǥ👹 incidents, I remember thinking it was so cool that everyone changed their name to the same thing. Baptist and another guy were the main 😡ҝعყʂعཞ😈Տȫƶع😡, I was too obscure to remember the actual reasons for the wars back then, though I believe both were hate campaigns against Groucho and TC.

Yeah, she was feared on the map. Until she made too many enemies, who teamed up against her and Borg. Some great players in Borg, though!
I can’t remember who started the taking someone else’s name thing. I know I was using Hacksaw’s exact turf color and duping his turf names to try to set up on him before that. Hack was nearly impossible to cap off the map.
