...And let’s not forget how this shooter was stopped.. And it’s not the first time this year that a church shooting was stopped by an armed civilian.

show the real research behind each shooting and where the guns came from and how tightening the law would have prevented it when the law is ignored. starting with the law against shooting people, they ignore that law and ever law leading up to it. they have no regard for legal authority or human life. i don't want to be defenseless against someone like that. if we lived in a society where those things didn't and couldn't happen then fine. i don't want or need a gun. i've been married for nearly 20 years and have never needed one, but i'm also surrounded by people that would defend me and my family with lethal force. i want to stop depending on my neighbors for that shield of protection. and you can say that it's the governments or societies obligation to protects it's citizens but the fact is they fail to do so for one reason or another. in light of that failure you must defend yourself or be the person laying there dead. misplaced faith in a broken system. i trust myself and my .45 when i get it.

Before you get your firearms license in Canada, agents reach out to family, friends, and colleagues to see about any domestic/phsycological issues. This simple law would have prevented the sale of weapons to this man. A piece of paper not being submitted by officials is a garbage excuse. Of course this won't bring any change...🍀Mr Ikslopot wrote:
so no matter the law, it was circumvented or outright ignored and he obtained the gun anyways... still doesn't seem like tighter gun control would have prevented it. if the laws in place are ignored, more would help?★DΞICIDΞ★ wrote:
I am not interested in this argument; however, a big box store—so far unnamed—sold him the gun even though he was not supposed to have them..
Anyhow, sad state of affairs. That family of eight was an awful thing. Survivorwas70~ -
Any basic background check should have brought up 100 red flags on this guy.

like i said. counting on everyone to obey the law in obtaining the gun is a mistake they are already looking at breaking the law why obey the law about obtaining the firearm to begin with?... those laws affect who? me the law abiding citizen. not the guy that is looking to go on a shooting spree. that person is going to find another way.

Rofl what do you guys think gun control is, it's really quite concerning that all you guys go back to is you're afraid you can't defend yourself because the bigbad government is going to take all of your guns. by going through the proper channels I can buy handguns, semis, .50 cals, shotguns, black powder, etc.
Do some reading, you will agree with almost all of Canadas laws regarding gun ownership. It might not solve the problem over night but it's better than hopes and prayers. Nothings going to change if you don't bring your sick fetish up at the table.

Okay I'll break it down for you. There is a town of 2000 people. 8 of those people own firearms legally. 10 other people are criminals and are looking to aquire weapons that can kill with the highest efficiency. The 10 criminals start breaking into houses in an attempt to retrieve said guns. 2 are successful and the other 8 get caught by police and go to jail. The next issue is ammunition, the 2 criminals with weapons could not find the ammo with the guns and since the law states all guns must be locked and unloaded, they have absolutely no way of killing people. So they start asking...like i said. counting on everyone to obey the law in obtaining the gun is a mistake they are already looking at breaking the law why obey the law about obtaining the firearm to begin with?... those laws affect who? me the law abiding citizen. not the guy that is looking to go on a shooting spree. that person is going to find another way.

Around for someone who can get them ammo. Crim 1 asks his neighbour Gary if he can pick him up a couple boxes of .22 ammo. Gary thought that was strange since he knew crim 1 had a record, so he mentions it to Bob who is a police officer at the local station...
The end -
Town 2 on the other hand. Population 2000, 1000 gun owners owning over 2500 weapons. 10 criminals set out to get some loot. They enter the first house and low and behold, 100 high powered rifles and enough ammo for each town member.

i just think it's funny that every time there is an issue someone wants to pipe up about gun control when it's not proven that it would have helped at all. your proof is in your numbers... but you've admitted that your county is different, from your basic mentality all the way up through your politics and laws. so what makes your think applying methods that work for your set of circumstances will automatically work for a completely different set? logically speaking that doesn't make any sense to me. chopping thieves hands off works too in some societies, they might have very low recorded thefts but that doesn't mean its going to work for you. or us for that matter. i'm not saying we shouldn't adopt proven processes, but theres always more to consider.

Hey, you're doing better than Columbia, Jamaica, and Swaziland so it's not all doom and gloom.

I’ll take town 2 since there are still 999 well armed citizens. Also sounds like Gary needs to do a better job of keeping track of his neighbors criminal activity. FFS Gary knew the guy was a criminal and he was still able to break into a house and steal some weapons. Sounds like both towns need longer prison sentences or maybe more laws to prevent the thefts in the first place? Maybe a cdc study on how to prevent people from breaking into homes would have made both towns safer??Town 2 on the other hand. 10 guys can only use so many guns at once no matter if there was 10 million weapons in town 2. it's still only 10 guys against the rest of the town... odds are they don't make it out alive. dead before the police even respond to the b&e. i'm good with that.Town 2 on the other hand. maybe they hang their mutilated bodies on pikes at the entrance to the own so everyone can see what happens when you mess with them. might cut down on people trying to steal. take some selfies with them in compromising positions while holding their guns in the air and drinking some beer :) good times. fear through brutal consequences.

I hope you don't kill someone while you're so proudly doing so. You must be that idiot in the #4 lane Braille driving at 45MPH 🙄I’ve been texting and driving since the iphone 3g(2008) came out. I think being ADD helps and now believe it to be an elovutionary step in humans :). Those who can’t shouldn’t try or they die off. At least thats the line of crap i give my wife when she complains about my playing tw, drinking coffee/eating and carrying on multiple conversations while i’m driving. ADD for everyone!

Some people in Chicago, DC, and NYC are watching this thread shaking their heads in disbelief. Their background checks have only one criteria: Human? Rejected.
Still, the murder rates there would make any maple lover blush.

who said anything about 45? 😂 just because you say something doesnt make it so. ive lost my license twice for the number of speeding tickets i managed to rack up.... so try again. 😬

If America got gun control, people would still smuggle guns into America, and the shootings we have will be even more violent because the civilians won’t have any protection.

gangs vs mass killings? i don't even need a search to tell you they kill more than 28 people per year. i think their numbers far out weigh what you are going to get from a mass shooting of any sort based on the frequency of both. mass shootings aren't near as common as just every day killings related to gangs or mobs. when i was in working in california it seemed like every day there was some killing on the news. the mass killings get international coverage, i doubt you hear about the local killings in miami , dallas, new orleans, las vegas unless it's related to a child or something.
anyone heard of Matthew Lemus from Dallas? He was my 19 year old cousin from dallas. Him and his best friend, Edgar, were murdered while running away. Matthew had a disgusting wound to the back of his skull that they didnt want his mother to know about. They still haven't found who commited the murder, and its been 3 months and 2 days.

If my cousin had a weapon on hand, he likely wouldnt of had to run.. and chances are.. he would still be here.
-
guns may be limited to 21+ .. im not really sure, but anyways. I dont think gun control can really stop people from getting hurt. Maybe limiting criminals or mental screenings or something

Gun control isn’t the problem never has been never will be. The problem is the punishment system. Look through history any society that has been strong and thriving has had a near ruthless capital punishment system. Why has america become much weaker in the last 40 years? Liberals and bleeding hearts want to give everyone a second chance. Guess what do victims get a second chance? PS I don’t want to hear anything from Canadian y’all just set up there and enjoy the freedom you suck off true men.

Canada, UK, Sweden all have way lower gun death rates. And we entered WWII way before the US. Don’t forget it.
