I just bought a sig p232 the other day. Hide. Nicely in my pants, and packs a nice kick, apparently not "enough" but I took it to the range and got silver dollar sized groupings at 25 yards so I think that'll do. Plus it looks like James bonds gun.
What's your fav "self defense" round? And or "self defense" gun?

I own a pistol AR with a strap stock. Allows me to fit my arm through the back and grip the handle so I can essentially shoot the AR with one hand. Very loud but effective firearm. P232? Nice! Where are you from?
-
My Springfield xd mod.2 with a 9mm round will stop anyone in their tracks day or night... it will shoot a quarter sized group at 25 yards with a steady hand
-
I carry a Sig p238 tactical.
It's a .380 -

Get an ATF tax stamp for a SBR then get a ATF tax stamp for a suppressor and you have a nice piece
-
Do it before the elections because you won't be able to after
-
It's been 5 months since I applied for mine. Should be getting them shprtly
-
I own tactical pepper spray. Its got a 2cm nozzle, custom foam grip and two extended cartridges just in case i run out. I can hit a person at least 5 feet away depending on wind conditions. Im thinking about adding a scope and laser sight on it for increased accuracy.

I have many sidearms I can have holstered above my left pocket but I was mainly on the idea of home defense. Multiple AR's in my house 😬🇫🇷Napoléon🇫🇷 wrote:

Um did you read what you quoted?

My daily carry is a Taurus PT145 pro. My backup is a Bersa Thunder 380. I love both.
-
I like ARs but I feel like they are too common. They do look nice,
Loser, yes you said the gun will get that kind of groupings, I was just wondering how your shots are, the reviews all day that the P232 gets super good accuracy but, I'm a rifleman so my groupings are not nearly what I want them to be with handguns.
Colonel, if I ever decide to be an assassin then I'll consider buying a suppressor, I didn't even realize how much paper work there was to get the short barrol rifle/shotgun!
And bikegotstolen, I've had that peppers pray to the face, it hurts. But rather than a scope go for a larger nozzle and make it a spread shot deal 😜
-
I was talking about my groupings lol when I have a steady hand it's quarter sized, on an off day silver dollar sized... just fucking off, still smaller than an Eisenhower dollar
-
Mine has the 4" barrel with a 1:10 rifling, very accurate with almost no recoil at all. You zero back on target instantly.

Occasionally I will carry my Glock 27 or Walther P99 (both .40 JHP) -
.380 Colt Mustang 2. Compact and low kick.
-
I wish I had more guns.
I have a Springfield 1911, S&W shield 9mm, S&W shield .45, S&W bodyguard .380, kimber micro 9, walther p22, and a few hunting rifles, and a Winchester double barreled .12 ga.

A shovel bag of lye and a rock and a swamp in my backyard

☝️ I like the 1911s but I like them the most in a chrome or gold color.
Everyone that carries a .380 what grain bullet do you use? I just picked up some federal 99grain Jhp that's the largest I've seen for a .380
is bigger better for these guns? Or should I look into the smaller rounds?
I had a friend in Alaska who was a dealer as a side job and he would always say "I have more than I need and less than I want" after I bit the bullet and bought a second gun I realized he was right and became addicted... and now I can say the same as he did.

All I have is a water pistol🔫

Anyway. The .380, I'd stick with the Hornady Critical Defense. It's a 90g I believe. (Don't have a box with me right now)
The difference between a 90 and 99 would be minimal to the asshole banging your wife that you shoot in the back.
If you really want more "oomph" get a 9mm, or go to a .45
-
Shoot both weights. You'll be more accurate with one over the other. Pick that one.

Exactly both on the 1911 fact and the grain weight fact. You can only expect so much from a certain size round, and heavier grain isn't always better.
Do you want the bullet to hit your target, or do you want to hit what's behind your target?
I have low grain, high damage rounds for home defense and high grain, high penetration for range shooting. Also every gun has a favorite ammo, you just gotta find what shoots best for it and you.
My Springfield hates federal rounds but loves Winchester and Normandy rounds.

Ok I fucked to the quote but half that was swampy
-
Sounds like I'll be spending lots o money's on this little guy :)
Has anyone tried perfecta ammo? I tested it on my .357 revolver and it jammed over and over again, which is unfortunate because that it is super cheap. It had really good reviews though. -
Super cheap = bad ammo 9.9 times out of 10
-
Cheap ammo might be ok at the range, but not for personal defense

No not really, low quality ammo will not only foul up the barrel but also all the internal springs, trigger mechanism and even the slide rails which most people don't think to clean. Results in a heavy trigger, stovepipe or even worse a wildfire which can cause you to shoot a loved one... learn to detail strip your weapon, a field cleaning only goes so far. Cheap ammo will bite you in the assCheap ammo might be ok at the range, but not for personal defense
