Religion? 2016? Do we need it? 😎

Well, as said, do we really need it? For example; I don't believe in the whole santa-Christmas thing either, co'z i know it's not real.. Or is it? Is he coming for real this year???!! Fun for the kids! :)
Well, I think it's just a fairytale and therefore also nonsens, just as religion is. when it comes down
to real decisions in real life, I'd rather decide for my self then put my trust in Santa and his reindeers, so to speak. I mean I'm
all grown up now and it's even 2016..What's your opinion?
-
No, we don't need 2016.
-
Id say yes some ppl really need religion, im not one of them but some of the basic principles ( mainly in buddhism ) do work for me
What the world should have less of is obviously tge fanatics and orthodox way of pushing their way of thinking through. But since thats also in for instance politics i dont feel that is the fault of any religion, its just that there are a lot of idiots...

Religion was so 2015.
-
For some, it gives life a meaning. It helps people do the right thing. For others, it brings out hatred and war. So, I vote that we keep the good religions and get rid of the bad ones. Of course, the one I follow is the best one.

In the 60's and 70's, people were content. Was it religion? Was it a one income family? Either way, shit was simple and effective. Maybe it's technology that has us in the mess we are in. I think if we go back to a one income family, and a little church in our lives, shit would change. Not that I'm a big church goer, but something back then worked.

Im sorry but i dont believe this is true. Actually at that time there was a lot wrong with the world and the ppl. Look at the demonstrations at the time which werent that luvyduvy, like the black movement demonstrations etc. Yes more ppl were smoking and doing drugs so they forgot how messed up it was more easily but that doesnt mean thats reality

Funny how things come full circle...this is basically the same type of question that got us into the predicament we're currently dealing with! Satan challenged Gods sovereignty by telling the 1st lie & getting Adam&eve to believe that they could have ultimate authority over their own lives & be able to truly make the right decisions for themselves, separate from Gods divine instructions! Don't Bite The Apple!!

I have trouble taking a guy named Ejaculator seriously. Anyways, it's a tricky question. In my opinion no, I think for the most part religion does more harm than good. With that, Al is right. For some people it does a lot of good, and I think it has a place in existence. People just need to learn to accept and help each other, and stop hating and killing over which God is more merciful.

The reality is something (us and everything on earth and the solar system, etc.) started from nothingness. So how can we explain the creation (even if that means the first atom or molecule) from nothingness. We can't. So belief/religion begins. To each his or her own. Some people need to have the fear of God's anger to influence their decision making, and others don't.

We can explain the origins of matter from nothing.
Or if you prefer bronze-age magic, that's cool, too.

http://www.nobeliefs.com/beliefs.htmAnyway, doesn't matter. The article is too long. You can't get people to read their own bibles which contain the keys to immortal salvation and critical safety information... Why would they bother to read some dry research paper where nobody loves them and they get nothing at the end?

No we can't make something from nothing. Ever never.

Your meaning is appreciated but the term delusions is not necessary. Not all of us grew up with a belief in God, or religion. They aren't idiots, nor are their brains frail. If you were truely immersed in religion growing up, you too would likely have the same delusions.
As time goes on I am more and more convinced in God, most people that I have met that don't believe in God have a couple of reasons for doing so.
1st they have not had a chance to hear about him, (these have mostly been people I've met in or from Europe or China.)
2nd they have had God in their life, but as time went on they wanted to do things that were not aligned with what they have learned. Unfortunately a lot of the people I've met like this have been bitter
cont.

And decided to blame the church and beliefs they had for the bad things that happened to that point.
Experiences in my life and as I've studied, has brought me to believe that God is there, and that he is alive. As I've decided to follow what I understand to be his teachings i have had things thrown at me on the street, I have been yelled at, I have been beaten, I have been told that I'm a bad person, I have been shot at.
I have been judged for my beliefs because that the majority want things to throw God out of their life, and they know they cannot ever be rid of him. They want to feel good in their choices, but they know that they are against Gods teachings. As long as I live I will stand for God.
My Gods not dead. He's surely alive
