What's your recommendation for an alternative to icm?
Forums › General Discussion › What's your recommendation for an alternative to icm?-
Looks like a good start. Main suggestions I have are a way to mark off codes individually and a way to flag bad codes

Also like invite code Matrix does, bump user codes added to the top again. Then a bonus is given to thr contributors.
-
I enter http://mob.codes But I don't see the site. Am I leaving something out?

I've enjoyed putting this site together, but I know many improvements are needed. I'm working to develop new features to make the site as functional as I can, but still keep it simple and reliable.
If someone has a huge code list to add, let me know. I can add them in very quickly in bulk and credit your user name. (The lists I have are dated.)
To reach critical mass, I think we need to pull together and contribute at least our own codes, and most importantly spread the word.
I realize there is no bump system yet, but unique code contributions are tracked per user. Once votes are in, you will be rewarded for your generous work. :)

Oh, BTW, I have requested temp code access as well. I'll keep you updated.

Looking good so far 👍

My recommendation is to play GS. There, you dont have to punch codes to get stronger, just hop around.
-
It would be easy to download all the codes from ICM into one csv file. Let me know if you want around 70k codes and I'll see what I can do

I would have to keep them separated, but I wouldn't mind having them there for reference.〓IPODGUY〓 wrote:

Nice site but what about invalid codes...what do we do?
-
How does that one help? And I really wish you luck brown on getting those temps!

I would import the icm database, and if a code is added that was on icm, give it a distinguishing feature. 2 reasons for this. Many of the most consistent punchers have finished icm and stay current.
Similarity, as someone said above, a lot of codes are for inactives. However, there will be no way for your site to know if a code is new or old, simply that it is valid. Even the TW response of "invited...' Or ...is already in your mob" gives no insight as I may have punched the temp of a legit new code, so they are in my mob. And with nick deleting invites, it says "invited" but I may have invited them in 2012.

My recommendation is a script

Temp codes on the way.
Thanks Nick!

I clearly am a novice at tech info but why not just list all codes in date order as players join. If I punch today I can start at the most current and work my way back? This way if you get a feed from Nick every player decides how far back they want to punch. I may only punch those a month old or newer. Basic..doable and offers options! 🐢

If we can mark the codes as we use them and only use the list of unmarked codes. Thoughts? Too Basic? 🐢
-
Have Mickey DUNN bump my code for me instead
-
1 code = 1 auto accept then the 2010 codes would still be valued and people could actually gain mob after punching 60,000 codes

I think that's how it works now. As for listing codes by date as players join, unfortunately we don't know when players join, when they become inactive, when they reset and start taking invites again, etc. Listing newest codes first I will make happen as an option. Ideally, I think you'd be best served to stay roughly caught up and grab the oldest first. If we can mark the codes as we use them and only use the list of unmarked codes. Thoughts? Too Basic? 🐢
Temps first, of course.

I'm not sure it would add anything to check off individual codes. When I punched long ago, I'd rather not have to click on each code. MAYBE I'd be okay with "select all" and mark.
Each code displayed is individually marked as viewed by the individual after clicking the button for the next set.
Later, when more sort or view options become available, this will work exactly the same way.
Viewing 1 code, 10, or 100 automatically marks them as read. The order or which codes shown has nothing to do with it really. Forward, reverse, one specific day, whichever.
-
On invite code matrix there's the option to check codes individually or check all. The check individually is nice to make sure you don't lose your place, especially if you had to stop for a moment. If it's one or the other then check all is definitely the better option. But it'd be nice if there's an option for both

If you have any suggestions, now's the time. :)I have created a code database. The web site is underway.
So far:
Users and codes have up votes and down votes.
Each code is tracked with who added it, when, and the vote score.
Each user has a table of punched codes.
The site will manage user accounts, provide an interface to add codes, and a "punching" interface with a sortable / filtered view of codes where users can mark codes already punched.
Simple and stable is the order of the day. Simple before pretty.
Temp codes can be added to the system if Nick allows me.
If you have any suggestions, now's the time. :)
one thing is you need to be able to delete codes that you uploaded so like if I uploaded my code and then changed it I could delete that code and upload the new one.
