i wish people would stop adding -gate to every controversial topic. there was only one gate, watergate in the 70's before i was a sperm cell in my dad's balls.
stop calling everything gate. it's stupid as shit

Didn't realize I was the one that coined the phrase-gate

I think cheaters make great role models and we should continue funneling huge sums of money to them and their sponsors so that they can continue marketing their crap to us.
-
Regardless of wether it was intentionally or not, they aren't gonna tell anybody. You shouldn't have to deflate the ball to win in the first place. If it was a honest mistake then it is what it is.

The Cheatriots are known for trying to get an extra edge. I think they should lose more than some draft picks.
-
They should be forced to wear their helmets backwards during the SB. that'll teach them.
That or give me one night with Giselle and we'll call it even.

I'm not a Patriots fan, but I do like Brady/Belicheck. Honestly I don't care much. If they're guilty, man that was wrong. But they won 45-7. That's what I don't get. They've owned the Colts. I didn't think Indy had a prayer Sunday and I was right.
This has been a big deal in the sports world all week. Can you imagine how much bigger of a deal it would've been if the game had been a one score game?
-
Fuck the patriots they should be banned from the nfl. Just now they were caught. How many other games did they doctor their Equiptment to win due to weather or just to be slimy grimy fucks.

its crazy that it happened, but its also crazy how big of a deal the media is playing this out to be. sure the nfl needs to figure out how the hell it happened, but would it have made a difference in a game that had 3 rushing td's vs. the colts 1 td?
no it wouldnt have. -

As someone who played football semi-pro I guess, the deflated ball is a HUGE advantage in ALL aspects of the game. Obviously throwing, but with rushing more so. In a wet game, ball security is so important, and with a semi deflated ball, it allows the runner to get a firmer grip which will greatly reduce the ability to fumble or have the defense strip the ball. Trust me, having deflated balls can almost be akin to having an extra player, it's a big deal.

I've decided. The Patriots would've won no matter what they did but if its that big of a deal, just have a fricking rematch.
-
17 - 7 deflated balls
28 - 0 regular balls
so who's still thinking the patriots needed to cheat to win? -

Honestly, this is something that is done on plenty of teams...NE didn't just all of a sudden come up with the idea, same with the spy scandal a few yes ago! The thing is that NE just keeps getting caught! It's a comin rule of thread in the NFL, it ain't cheating unless you get caught doing it! It's funny how many more of the leagues hidden secrets are now being exposed to the general public, & then the media just eats it up!!! Basically opening the flood gates on the coverage!

How many people players/refs touched the balls during the game? Even the guy that intercepted the pass to Gronk in the end zone didn't notice a difference. Refs hold the ball every play. The day after the game is to late. I wish there was something else they could talk about on TV cause looping this shit over and over was old on Tuesday. If the NFL don't have standard procedures in place to prevent this stuff from happening then shame on them. They seem to be waiting for popular vote to decide what to do. Misery loves company and in today's world people can't wait to jump all over the guy on top. We are fortunate to see possibly the greatest of all time getting in done year after year with a different group of receivers. Let's enjoy the ride.

Forgive me if I missed this and didn't see it but if deflating the ball is a advantage for one team wouldn't it make sense the other team had the same advantage

I believe each team plays with their own balls. When a team is being offensive, they are able to run up and down the field with their balls out. When they're defensive, they keep their balls to themselves and let the other team play with their own balls.
It's the gentlemanly thing to do.
