Surely you aren't calling someone STUPID.. It's safe to say you've made some stupid choices in your life or "thuggish" moves however you have probably not had the fear of being killed over it on a daily basis. Is what they're doing right? Well it's doubtful anyone truly believes it's the correct way to express yourself but until you've walked a mile in some of their shoes we can't relate to their anger and feelings so why try. Don't set on your throne and cast stones below when I'm sure wrongs in your life could've been called just as stupid in the eyes of someone else.. Before talking shit about what someone else is doing try putting yourself in the shoes of the people who will likely be shot dead next. Show me the fear you encounter on a daily basis knowing that you can be killed without prosecution. Then and only can you speak on anger and outrage. Until then suck my fucking dick!

This case should have never been about race. It should have been about abuse of power by the police dept. The looting and rioting is uncalled for. I bet property values plummeted overnight. Ferguson looks like the next Detroit . Rev Jackson and his crew of race baiters cause more problems than they help.

No stranger to police brutality, state intransigence and injustice myself. Yes, burning your own area to the ground is pretty shit but if u are hemmed in and entrenched, protest is justified.
I salute my brothers against inequality and injustice🍒🍀👊🍀🍒

Protests are great but what happened with crime ie looting and property destruction against those who didn't shoot anyone is just sad because it definitely makes me feel less about a particular group of people. That does not shine as a people looking for justice but a people of criminality. Not excusing police but equality is going to be hard to reach for any society. I feel for Michael Browns parents and the officer and his family but now I have to feel sad for a bunch of business owners who lost their livelihood and they did nothing but serve a community. Peace✌️

I don't care if Mike Brown spit in his duaghters mouth! If you are a peace officer your job is not to murder the people you police. You are supposed to be a professional, act like it. And while I can't rightfully condone roiting, you can't expect people to be trounced on and not react! I'd gladly make you a victim so that I could gauge how angry you and your family should be. You can't cherry pick facts. Read the M.E. Reports, find out why there aren't any autopsy photos? Look at the so-called life threatening injures he sustained. Then talk shit. This country has had a Brutal history involving non-Europeans from its inception.

Yo 👋👋 victim here. White biker looking type who until he finally realized that my attitude and looks combined were not bringing about a happy interaction with law enforcement, I at least changed my attitude and it improved every instance of engagement. My looks still attract thier attention though

Brooklynite,
As a police officer I can tell u my main goal after 15 yrs of doing this job is to go home to my wife and kids every day so if it's my life or yours I can assure u I'll do everything in my power to survive. Until you've faced death in the eye you have no clue the burden and stress the men and women who keep u safe every night face. I've taken an oath to go out every day with my bullet proof vest and gun to protect people like u and everyone else in my community. I don't do it for glory or praise, I do it to help people and save the occasional life that some animal of society may have caused harm to. Age wasn't an issue here, trust me a 300 lb 18yoa can cause plenty of damage to someone half their size. The evidence spoke for itself. -
All he had to do was listen to the officer, if he happened to get arrested falsely then he would have his due process of the law. He chose the path which it led down, not the officer.

If one of those businesses owners were in the store and being broke into by a lot of people. Would Store owner would be justified to shoot any who he feared his life from not to mention all his livelihood ?

Brown was huge, Officer Wilson was Tiny.

When you play with fire, expect to be burned.
Wilson was in the right. End of story. Brown was no innocent kid.
Yeah he was an unarmed black male. that fact cannot be disputed.
But he was an unarmed black male who tried to attack a cop, and got a lead injection as a result.

Two thumbs up for tough guy's posts. If you read nothing else in this thread, read those words. And regarding the rioting - that is not an intelligent reaction to anything. It's people acting out because they didn't get their way. It's embarrassing really. What did it accomplish? Other than destroying businesses and property? Nothing.

And for the PMs I'm getting on Palringo. I look white yes, being Norwegian, and Spanish (from Spain) blocks out the 50% Mexican Blood in me. But I'm not a 'purebred white', I have black cousins, Mexican cousins, and white cousins. So no, I'm not in the KKK as some of you are insinuating.

They can't see past the tips of their own privileged noses. If it was a white young man who--or better yet for the purposes of illustrating the point--a white teen girl who was MURDERED FOR SHOPLIFTING it wouldn't be so ridiculous.
Let's fix it, give me a sec to write up a similar scenario.

Everyone happens to be entitled to their own opinions. It's just too bad that some of your opinions devalue human life. May it be black or white.
Even without the aid of recorded history. -

What kind of straw man logic is this? We're not talking about shoplifting or skin color we are talking about a guy trying to take out a cop and a cop who rightfully defended himself.

How is it ignorant? The overwhelming consensus on this thread is that Brown deserved it because he was a criminal. His crime was shoplifting. Therefore saying that people would be outraged if a white girl was killed for shoplifting is a pretty apt motherfucking comparison. Two dependent variables were changed: skin color and sex. Everything else remains the same.
-
Michael Brown committed a crime, yes. Wilson had every right under the sun to defend himself. I personally believe that the degree of his reaction was uncalled for, and in my eyes, he should have been punished for that.
Am I incorrect in thinking that all police officers are trained for situations such as that? I always assumed that lethal force was a last resort...
Yes, the shoplifting and burning are entirely unnecessary, but who am I to judge anything that happens in MO at this point as I have never been anywhere close to standing in their shoes.
