Probably because of things such as this incident where a father gets arrested for breaking a 2 minute rule at a parents evening.

If you have brought your kid up properly, they will have the capacity to understand such moral issues at the age of 14. If you've brought your kid up in a way that they don't know the difference between fiction and fact at the age of 14, you need to have a little think about whether you were fit to have kids in the first place.

But I do agree with u that this book shouldnt have been read without some knowledge or warnings given to parents. Yes there is a time n a place to learn about rape. But was the class that this was read in sex ed? Or was it english? The man was given 2 minutes to speak. He went over.. dont let him speak next time. Arrested for speaking longer?? Gimme a break. the fact that so many are oblivious n think that THAT is justice amazes me. That's not justice. Thats power hungry teachers n officers. -
