Unless he actually meant "ojibwe DOESN'T know anything." In that case he's just an illiterate name calling boob. Which is no big deal.

Because "do not" indicates a plural subject while "does not" indicates a singular subject. It's basic English grammar. Ojibwe can be either singular or plural so the verb is the only way to determine his meaning in that sentence.

Also while I'm here... Among the Ojibwe we recognize a continuity of gender roles and characteristics. There can be women who act like men, men who assume women's roles, either of which may or may not be homosexual. Plus there are those homosexuals who stick to "normal" gender roles in all other aspects of their lives. Gender and sexuality is complex and changeable. Our tolerance of this complexity better reflects reality than the strict Christian viewpoint. This is the way it has always been, in every culture. To deny it is just closing ones eyes to reality. Critically judging and denial of reality seems like insanity to me.

I look at it like this. If I have the ability to prevent sin from occurring and I simply turn my head and allow it to happen I'm equally as responsible. Like if I had an opportunity to save someone's life and I simply look away I would ultimately feel guilty for his/her death. As a Christian I can honestly say I love everyone but the idea of marriage has been for me and most other a religious ceremony. So I personally don't support homosexuals rights to marriage because of my beliefs.Ojibwe wrote:

Like you when you judge others for stating their opinion about their worldview? You sound more like a hypocritical person to me when you make contradicting comments like the one above. You need to study psychology 101. Behavior change and classical conditioning are two big factors of any "learned" behavior. And its still a fallacy of equivocation when you confuse terms like "gender" and "race" as if one you can change the other without manipulation and disfiguring of the flesh. Its also offensive to assume that if a woman can perform the behavior of a man that she has to "switch" between genders. Your still making wild eye assumptions of how this can be possible. Unless your just stating your opinion then we just ignore the man behind the curtain telling people a bunch of is and ought false inductions.Also while I'm here... Among the Ojibwe we strict

Let me make this clear, no offense intended, it makes me yawn when i keep hearing the same arguments over and over. Ones that have no real reflective understanding that the one making accusations is the one at fault and just as guilty as the one accused.

The bible says gay is wrong in Leviticus, it also says your hair should not be unkempt. I guess Phil is going to hell.

It matters not how you arrived at your worldview. We are a country of laws. Arguing that the fundamental rights of equal protection under the law and due process should be denied to a certain group you deem morally unworthy clearly puts you in the category of hopelessly intolerant bigot. You can hide behind your ancient texts and say you're simply stating your faith, but honestly you should know better than to treat your fellow humans this way. If your personal spiritual journey led you to this, I'm sorry but you're simply doing it wrong.

Phil's got bigger obstacles than that when it comes to entering the pearly gates. He admits that in the 70's, he badly beat up a bar owner and his wife. Not a single gay friend I have has ever done anything remotely that destructive and hurtful to another yet somehow their sins are worse, at least according to Phil's most recent equivocations.The bible says gay is wrong in Leviticus, it also says your hair should not be unkempt. I know a homosexual that raped a man and his son in my area. Do you see how pointing something like that out is entirely irrelevant. When you go to court and you want someone to be found not guilty do you explain how the individual is not guilty or simply how the prosecution is worse than you are?☣ 🎸ӈɪƖƖßıƖƖγ🎸☣ wrote:

@Dark Magician:
Phil Robertson and his passing of moral judgement is the central topic of this discussion, and his moral choices as they relate to his worthiness to pass judgement are perfectly relevant to that discussion. I'm curious though. In your tortured metaphor, who is the guilty party and who is the prosecutor? -

Would it ultimately matter? The thing is that you can't use someone's own morality as a point to argue the validity of his statement. How does beating a man and his wife have any say in whether his views on homosexuality are valid? The two are absolutely unrelated.@Dark Magician:

Also when you go to court in defense for yourself I hope you don't spend your time trying to make the prosecution look bad. I'd hate to see you do all the work for the opposing later by essentially throwing in the towel. It doesn't matter what the other person has done in their life, unless it's entirely relevant to the current situation. If I kick puppies for fun does that mean my opinion on things unrelated to that topic aren't as valid?

This isn't a court of law. It's the court of public opinion. Phil is prosecutor of nothing and gays are guilty of nothing outside of Phil's perverted understanding of God's new covenant. He claims to be a spiritual teacher, a man of the cloth. Well, judge not lest ye be judged. I'm judging Phil and I find him unworthy. I have every right to hold a man to the same standard he would hold others. My opinion, take it or leave it.★fnord★ wrote:

I'm aware this isn't a court of law, I think everyone here knows that. My point being that if you spend your whole life judging people's opinions by unrelated events that have occurred in their life you're going to be the pessimistic guy who can never find common ground lol. The fact is Phil didn't judge these people. In his statement he said what they do is sinful, then immediately goes on to say he's not going to treat them any differently. -

My point is back by your statement. I never read in the bible that you should beat a man and his wife. So why should that matter at all when it comes to the mans religious views. I appreciate the support there 👍.🔰darkmagician🔰 wrote:
