Couldn't go for a run in the national park today because it was closed due to government issues. How am I supposed to train for my 10k without federal support?

The harddrive on my Foxtel IQ has died. Now I can't record, pause, download shows. Further because it's a long weekend i dont have to go to work on Monday the replacement won't arrive until after my wife is working so I won't be able to collect the box from the post office for a full week. And I have kids who don't understand not watching what you want.

My pool has a sand filter, and the sand needs changed every 5 years. So until I get it fixed, the water isn't as clear and clean looking as my wife would like. So really, the problem is I have to listen to her complaining about it not looking it's best, which will eventually lead me to pretend I know how to fix it, followed by a botched attempt, dirtier looking water, until I call some dude and pay him an amount I will complain to my wife about, to fix the problem once and for all. Such a hassle to have first world luxuries and have to complain about them...

Makes you wonder how the pioneers kept their sand filters in their swimming pools clean, while they were all fighting Typhoid?

It's obvious that Typhoid is not a 1st world problem, and I don't know any pioneers that had swimming pools with filters.

They got rid of the bendy straws at my favorite restaraunt and replaced them with plain, boring, regular ones.
They started charging for the water a McDonald's.
I tried to turn on a movie on netflix while simultaneously watching a second movie and Digimon on two other televisions and playing Legend of Zelda on my N64 but Netflix will only allow two live streams at once.
My online entertainment console that can connect to anyone in the world instantaneously is 0.03 seconds too slow.

Yes, the pioneers comment was a joke, playing off the theme of the thread. You caught me. I realize the Pioneers did not have swimming pools, though Typhoid was common, according to the greatest computer game ever, "Oregon Trail."
When attempting to play forum police, you might avoid comments like "I didn't know any pioneers that had swimming pools with filters".
How may pioneers did you know?
Are you asserting that they had pools, just no filters?
Do you think you may be taking this all a bit too seriously?
Was there a point? -
Do the pioneers even count as "first world"?
I suppose it depends what they're pioneering... and when.
As for me, I hate when someone puts pies in my ears. Happens all too often. 😠 -
The vending machine at my school. When I pay for a mountain dew, it gives me a diet coke. I didn't ask for a diet coke! $1.25 down the drain!

I went to Germany for the Formula 1 race and the sodas in the refrigerator of the top floor suite in the 5-star hotel I stayed at were almost twelve dollars each, and the Lamborghini I rented wasn't the color I requested.
