Do missions and talk on the forums, that's how it was in the golden days, and I miss how things were back then. Just because you newer players came in after they free points were put into action, doesn't mean you deserve them, so stop complaining and grow the fuck up..

There are many apps, which everyone knows, that offer a daily login bonus, it could be 5 a day and if you are in everyday for 5 or 7 days you get your 5 plus some loot. Just a thought. But I think I recall the 5 free thing saying limited time lol.

I think Nick is going to find out that with GS being so expensive (you quickly hit a point where even capping one territory costs money), people will want to wander back here. But without any daily DP to help smaller players and those who can't spend much to expand in TW, the numbers here will keep shrinking. It's not about owing anyone anything (which came as as extremely ingracious -- this is a two way street, where we get to have fun playing, but we also put a lot of money in Nick's pocket), it's about keeping TW's numbers up to keep the game going. Or maybe there's no interest in supporting the game or players?

Hell, you could buy max don points & the servers could go down tomorrow and he still wouldn't owe you anything. Nowhere does it say that by playing this game, you are entitled to anything other than a username. Any implied or actual rules are subject to change at anytime & are solely at the discretion of meanfreepath. The free don points were/are a sweet perk for cheap ass mother fuckers like myself who don't want to invest next to anything into a phone app regardless of how much enjoyment I get out of it. Just because I like getting something doesn't mean I have the "right" to receive it regardless of other underlying issues. I like getting head. Doesn't mean I get it whenever I want it. No one is or has ever forced you to spend a dime on this game. You invested or not based on your enjoyment level. The game changed...so fuckin what. Welcome to life ass bags.

Shit happens, roll with it. We're talking about a paltry 5 don points. And they were FREE don points. It's not even like you paid for them and lost them somehow. Think about going to the movies. You've seen the 2 movies in the trilogy prior to this and at each showing they offered you free popcorn upon entering the theatre. Unfortunatly for whatever reason, the producers have decided not to offer the free popcorn this go round. You still have the option to seethe movie for the same price and in the sane venue as the precious times. Is not getting your free popcorn worth not seeing the movie?

This is a god damn business that nick ET al is running. This is how he makes his living. He has to constantly ballance game play versus real world business models and what pays the bills. He's allowed to make as much or as little as he wants. Just as you are allowed to spend as much or as little as you want your warped perception of the world he lives in. The comments some of you huckleberries are making are stunning and just reflect how truely one dimensional, self absorbed & completely out of touch with reality you really are. I can tell you absolutely that I think it sucks that I have not been able to get free dp but if you honestly think you are justified in making this into the perceived travesty of injustice that you guys are making this out to be then you really need to get your asses outdoors into the real world and take a much needed break from cyber wonderland.

TL 35How is any new person gonna wanna stay n compete when turf limit at godfather is 35 without buying. The new people/non spenders have at least a bit of a chance every 3 days to increase it by 1. Not saying were entitled or owed the 5 free points but come on. Have to be level 100 to get 35 turf? If there's no free points then the turf increase per level needs a tweak.

I think everyone likes free don points & could agree that it would better if the daily 5 free points remain available. I imagine nick would like them to remain available. That's probably why he's trying to get Flurry to fix their issue rather than just immediately doing away with the free points.
If people only open the app to get free points, then they basically aren't playing anyway. If the 5 free points are done away with & people want to quit, that's their choice. If people want to stop spending money, that's also their choice. I personally don't understand the logic of saying that you won't buy something unless you get something for free.
TW is something you do for fun. If you have to be "bribed" to stick around, then maybe you should question if you are still having fun.

For a long time I have been adding two turfs a day to my limit. The 5 free don points made that seem reasonable. You know I get 5 for free so what's another 19? It all added up to extra income for Nick. That's just from my perspective. You give a little and sometimes you get much more in return.

I understand what you're saying, Saba, but at the same time, running a successful game as this requires a consistent user base. A large portion of that base is college students, high school students, and simple working class people who can't afford more than the occassional DP, if any. Just as the game needs those who spend, it needs the average user as well. I didn't read through the entire 5 pages to see who feels they're owed what - and, personally, I don't feel anyone is owed per se - but tossing out 5 free DP per day as a rule seems like not only smart business but also a nice thank you to those who do spend. Like I said, it's a two way street.

My thoughts on this, is the 5 free helps the new guy build his his turf and gets them interested once interested people start to play more then to get farther along everyone pays to increase their turf and stats ect. With out the 5 free dps it's going to steer many people away and slowly fade the game away. In life it takes money to make money. Give 5 free and your client base will spend more money eventually. It's common buisness practice.

I think this may be sliding a little. As far as I can tell the 5 points aren't being removed by Nick, he is trying to work out why they are not currently working? A lot of games have incentives to keep players and interest, 5 points isn't a bad thing. If you don't use them don't use them, I like them and would be sorry if they had to go, they are handy for protection. Just because they weren't there before is a non argument, they were introduced and remained for a reason. If they were so bad for business I'm sure the link would be removed completely. Nick doesn't 'owe' us anything, but its a small price to keep the peace.

Add the option so we can get don points if we complete achievements for winning fights or finishing an amount of missions

Yes, it sucks that the AD service is down. Remember when sometimes you actually had to download the app in order to get the points? There was a lot of ire and dander amongst players then as well, and then the DP's came mostly just from viewing an ad for the various apps. Yea! Now... We wait. Hopefully they are able to continue because like many of us, I don't have a very expendable cash flow for in-game purchases. Have I made a few purchases, yes I have. Have they been my best purchase decisions I life, probably not. But they have, along with the free daily points, allowed me to catch up to others in terms of allowable turf acquisitions. 'Nuff said. Well I guess I'll throw my two cents in the pot. It's been just over a year and a half that I've been playing TW with ya all. As a starting player I was one of those who gets a game because its free. The don points were a huge incentive as ( even if just in perception ) allowed a player to grow and compete with others. Once hooked into the game I decided on my goal and proceeded to spend RL $ on don points to grow my turf limit for my need of collecting shopping centers. Had this game not hooked me in with the free incentives I doubt I would have spent a dime on this game. TW at least had the pull to draw a free player in and create a paid player, power is in dedication of time not just money. Unlike GS imo, where there seems to be a distinctive force of spending RL $ to be competitive, especially for those in rural areas where the extra tiberium is easily accessible with multiple areas in close proximity.

Anywho, just look at the candy crush business model. They rake in over 600k a day in $$$ on a free game because of the lure and incentives. Yes people can play for free and send 'lives' to each other. By doing so it draws a person into the game and their need to compete says well what's a dollar here and there to have some fun. Now think of how well candy crush would have done if there was no free life incentive, just the constant 30min wait between lives. I don't think it would have lasted long nor made shittons of $$$ like it has.

Now are free don points a requirement to have, of course not. Is bitching and moaning going to fix the current problem, of course not. I'm sure however that nick still likes money and will do whatever he can to keep that incentive alive for players. All we can do is wait and see what happens, and perhaps give viable suggestions to look into for nick to work other possibilities into the free don points. ( like simpsons tapped out, free reward every day logging in for 7 days then resets to one and starts over)
This game is what we make it, the community is what keeps it strong, and hopefully nick can find a way to keep the incentive strong for all the new players still to join.

Nick, thanks for the points that I've gotten for free so far. It's very generous but it also kept me around when I didn't spend money in this game. If you guys find a way to resolve it, that's awesome. If there's absolutely no way it can be resolved then I will be grateful for what I've gotten and not complain or whine about it. TW has kept me entertained daily for almost two years. I can't say that about ANY Xbox or playstation game I've ever bought. Also, the Christmas specials on the "no ramping" for turf limit was beast.
