Global supremacy - first thoughts?

i like it, i'm addicted already

There are a few things different in GS atm (hoping next to impossible, you loot and fight with stam, fog of war, mob is tied to your turf, syndicates...). i think over time it will become more similar to TW though. the gps aspect is very strong at this point but it will change because GS will become another global conflict war game. for this to happen you need to give the enemies the opportunity to come close to each other so they can cap. airports, submarines, trains or whatever are just a matter of time till they will be introduced.
i am also curious how new players will be protected in a year or two when they start in big crowded cities with established players and bullies. since non henchie mob is tied to turf, once they get capped they also loose mob and you cant hop to safety either.
you have pr points in your profile but i think it is more an indicator for the up and coming forum police than anything else. -
another interesting thing was how many ideas from this forum made it to GS. i think most of the new stuff was suggested here first. it made me wonder if we had the big ranging thread in this forum in order to figure out how to best implement ranging in GS.
-
As of right now TW is much better. Base hopping is nearly impossible for long distance. TW is more user friendly but GS has a lot of potential. We just need more feedback to get it to where we want it. It's not like we can base hop much anyways, we are all new and not enough money in game to keep building turfs.
-
I like it more as I go along. It's been only three days so other than the beta testers, who have been paying it for a month, I think the rest of us should give it a fair chance. Waiting for things to build is consistent with other games I've played, but I understand the frustration after playing tw and not having to wait.
-
I am agreeing with the last 6 posts.👆👍

@Blamesday - As I said before, you get base building skills every time you plant a new turf. So if you lose 10 points from tearing down a turf (say if you're hopping), you gain 10 points when you plant the next turf. It equals 1:1. Unless you do something drastic like decide to tear all your turf down & only plant 1, you aren't "damaging" your profile by hopping.
TW has 2 forms of currency then - $$ & don points. GS added resources. I don't see that as a huge issue.
Looting upgrades that have agents isn't that rare. You don't have to spend all day searching for them, lol. Some players might argue that at least those are guaranteed, as opposed to punching codes & hoping the players aren't inactive.
Not everyone will like GS. Not everyone likes TW. I don't know why you'd be frustrated that you don't like a game. No one is forced to play, lol & TW isn't going anywhere.

The SIM CITY version of TW.

If you don't pay huge $$$ you won't get anywhere in gs
For example player 1: free to play player and there from day 1
player 2: just started and payed anough cash to nearly max out stats and scan so much that he will never run out of resources
player2 decides its time to take over but even though player 2 is still smaller then player1 with less agents due to the massive amounts of scanning from the cash, player2 has stockpiled lets say 30 TNT and then just whipes out all of player1's bases and due to that player1 just lost all of his agents and gets eaten up with no way of recovery except for paying huge cash to catch up to player 2 who just started
Pretty Mutch sums up how gs is going and has gone for me -
@ fun time - both players in your example just started. The game hasn't even been out a week.
Although I think I know the answer (& if I'm right player 2 hasn't spent any $ on the game) who did make angry?

For the record, it wasn't 30 TNT. It was 18 C4!

I totally called it. 😂😂 Maybe you shouldn't have brought TW drama to GS. He probably wouldn't have even noticed you if you hadn't started stuff there.@ fun time - both players in your example just started. The game hasn't even been out a week.

I wasn't talking about you mason, a different player who just started yesterday did that

I tore down and quit after this player finished off what I had left

Anyway the game is cool and is almost better then TW but being able to pay for such huge advantages from the start makes it difficult

Players that spend a lot in TW have similar advantages. Just because it takes longer to get to that point in TW, doesn't mean those advantages don't exist. However, the players I know in TW that spend a lot don't pick a random player to try & wipe off the map. They are usually in large wars. If they are after a single player unrelated to the war, it's because that single player started something. They don't just decide out of the blue to try & destroy someone they've never seen before.Anyway the game is cool and is almost better then TW but being able to pay for such huge advantages from the start makes it difficult

That GS game is way to complicated I think I'll stick with turf wars :)
-
Why can't they bring the map feature showing capos to TW? Would be nice to see.
-
I gave it a very good go for the last 3 days but when some guy send you a bunch of c4 and destroy over 25 distribution centers because you disputed him a few time. Well, lets just say if I find him on the map he's not going to like me very much.
-
When I first tried Turf Wars, I was hooked hard within 5 minutes. It was a simple, easy to play, user friendly game with a gritty feel to it.
GS is …
Well, let's just say that it wasn't fir me.
I already deleted it.
I am not a convert.
I still believe in the one true game.
And that game is Turf Wars! -
To slow, to empty, will be fun to muck around in and get a few firsts, like being in the top ten of a game for the first couple of hours... Will most likely plant turf here and there as I travel around but until they work out a better hopping method and an ability to zoom in on a target turf I think wars are going to be difficult and slow. Maybe the beta testers would be able to give some tips on how that worked.
-
GS has way too much going on in my opinion. What makes TW great is the simplicity and user friendly nature. I feel like the devs were just trying too hard to make GS cool with a bunch of wiz bang items. I like some of the concepts of GS but am having a hard time getting into it. if it were not for the many friends playing GS, I would have deleted the app like the rest of the tap joy apps I download for don points. I'll give it some more time, but I'm still a turfer!

How on earth do you get 18 C4? I haven't looted even one yet. Can you buy them? I think the range is pretty big, though, because twice a player in another country has C4d my bases. He supposedly has turf in the same country as me, but unless he's spoofing they have to be several hundred miles away - I haven't been able to locate them at all.For the record, it wasn't 30 TNT. It was 18 C4!

C4 seems almost to easy to get something that may need adjusted.
-
I predict code return rates will go down, any new TW players will have a hard time mobbing up, as for me, I think GS is a bit to complicated, though I will still play it.

Yeah that's the 1 thing right now that has to change imo. Too much damages with such a little scan of the map and doesn't seem to have a range limit. I planed squares on a remote island and they all got destroyed with a few C4.C4 seems almost to easy to get something that may need adjusted.
