Hopping the distance

I'm prepping my self for a long hop, all the way to Kansas City, anyone have any tips for hopping? Like how to make it less expensive and how to keep some one from following your trail of turfs back to the city's your in so they can cap you?

Use loot-save money. Don't forget to unattach em though

I did the exact same thing you did. All the way from Oklahoma. Don't see it as a long goal. Set your goals from city to city so you will feel more accomplished. Try hopping at least 40 miles a day for fast results.

By the way, how much turf would it take to go 40 miles?
-
Are you not tearing down?

Try and hop through unpopulated areas if you're keeping the cost down. I spent about half a billion going from Columbus airport to Michigan.

😹 But that's slow. I usually run a train of turf about 10 in a row then tear down and repeat. It gets me about 7km. Don't forget to leave safety turf. I forgot once and never made it back up that 150km's I lost....Wyster wrote:

1. Nebraska to Kansas City isn't far
2. You're too small and unimportant for anyone to follow your hop trail just to cap you. (No offense, but it's true)
3. Hopping is expensive and time consuming. No way around it.
4. I would recommend not using loot. Don't wanna risk tearing down turf before taking loot off.
5. Back to the following you to cap you topic, if someone really wanted to, they could just look at your turf list.
6. Safeties. Safeties. Safeties. -

Hopping is fun. At least for me it is. I hop quite a bit. Hopefully you'll enjoy it once you get in the habit. However, if you want to hop a lot, you're going to seriously up your limit, so that you can afford it. That or stay unarmed 😳✯ཥ༑ངਸཧཧབ✯ wrote:

Ya, I'm demoing turf now because I was over limit.

Do not use loot it takes more time to take them down just build to 86 trust me ;) also don't worry about cash flow or people following if then do just make sure I check before24 hours is up and move a mile out of their way.

It's quicker to plant 10 turf then go and delete 10 turf than it is to plant 1 delete 1 and repeat 10 times. My reasoning behind this is you can do all you planting in a row on the map, then go to your turf list and quickly delete the 10 turf planted just before the most recently planted turf which is the starting turf for your next trail.Hyena wrote:

I started my hop, see you guys in KC!

Plant 10 tear 10 down ? How do you get anywhere ? Plant 10 tear 9 down repeat over and over a 50 mile hop should take 1-2 hrs with distractions , tv , wife , ect , happy hopping 😜

I usually hop with over 100 spare turf

Your logic is faulty. It takes the same amount of time to build and tear down a turf no matter when you do it. Build 1, tear down 1, ten times or build 10, tear down 10, same thing. -

Did this in Malaysia, was gonna try and get to Thailand, then a week later the update got released for Thailand's airport, after hopping nearly 300km already I lost the motivation. I still haven't bothered going to Thailand or continuing my hop. Try not to make this mistake, it can be very demotivating.Hyena wrote:

I hop basically everywhere I have turf but not that far. Tip: you need great patience hopping takes awhile. And money is needed also, but mostly time.
-
Unless I'm hopping through a war zone where I might get capped, I always use loot. When money is an issue or you are impatient, I recommend using loot. It's such a habit for me that I have a hard time hopping without using it, lol. Use everything but bagmen, unless you are trying to stretch across a dead zone - in that case they actually can help.
-
Okay, I have been using loot, but the range to plant turf hasn't really changed, I have been going the same speed, and have traveled about 50 miles using and deleting about 20-25 turf, am I doing something wrong?
