-
Suspect 1 was killed last night. Suspect 2 escaped and now the had him pinned down and apparently they have him in custody
-
He's not going to Guantanamo. He'll be tried in a federal court and spend the rest of his miserable life in federal prison.
-
He is said to be injured. He deserves it.
And he is going to court. In china he would be shoot right away, nothing else. -
That's right. He's a US citizen.
Thankfully it's over. Amazing work by Boston PD.

watch this on tv today got me thinking. to all of you in law enforcement: thank you! you all do an amazing job!

I'm really surprised that he was taken alive. Fully expected him to kill himself before they got him. Thankfully no more deaths happened from that monster.

He is a US citizen he cannot be deported.
I hope he did survive, perhaps we can gain some insight into what led he and his brother to turn on the country that offered them protection and opportunity.

Clue: not US citizens.
His father said nothing of the sort.

He is 19. It takes 10 years to become a full citizen. He moved from Russia to somewhere in the Middle East so I doubt he's a full citizen so he can go to gitmo. He didn't kill himself b/c his uncle and dad were saying they want him to surrender

Maybe you should do some research before posting. He came here when he was 9. Also, it doesn't always take 10 years, that depends on your situation (for example, I became a citizen in less). He is 19. Second, they reported he became a citizen last year. He is Chechen in origin, not from "somewhere in the Middle East."

Shame they took him alive. May he meet many a cell mates named bubba over his miserable existence of a life.

What would be the point of sending him to Guantamano anyway? He's an American who committed a crime in America. The state and/or federal courts should try, convict, and sentence him. And this is a case where I think capital punishment fits the crime.

After that, to quote Rage Against the Machine... Bullet in the head.

Typically the crime that results in a naturalized person losing their citizenship is fraud in the application process.ℜagɳar Loðbrók wrote:

Committing a terrorist act can also lead to a person's naturalization being revoked. The naturalization can only be revoked following a criminal conviction. The person will then be subject to deportation. In most cases the person would first be required to serve out his sentence in prison. Then folowing his remease he eould be subject to deportation. In the case of refugees and asylees they are seldom deported even if there are grounds for deportation. In the very least he would get a hearing before an immigration judge to determine if he was to be deported.
In this case I suspect he will serve a life sentence if convicted and will likely never be deported.
-
Highly doubtful given he became a citizen when he was underage.
I vote for capital punishment, no life in prison, no Bubba.
-
In a way I think it'd have been a more rewarding outcome in terms of insight and intelligence if the elder of the two had been taken alive. It's very possible the kid was under huge amounts of sibling pressure to fall in line. Of course this doesn't change the fact he's old enough to make his own decisions and will be judged as such. It wouldn't surprise me if his defence is based largely on a 'big brother bully made me do it' flavour.

In most cases it takes 5 years as a permanent resident.
The spouse of a US citizen can naturalize after 3 years as a permanent resident. -
Life sentence? How's Timothy McVeighs life sentence going?

On another note my mother was friends with a guy named Timothy Mcveigh. When the OKC bombing went down he couldn't answer his phone for a while with people calling him thinking he was the bomber.

McVeigh got a "very short life sentence", Nichols got a long life sentence, the third got a couple years and fourth was given a deal for her testimony.
