Regarding The Racial Issue...

This thread's purpose is to eliminate ignorance among the younger generations concerning the issue of racial prejudice:
White people, look at your hand; that pigmentation is the same as the pigmentation in the skin of blacks. The only difference is they have more of that pigmentation.
I know most of you know this, and I apologize for simplifying it as much as I did.
To all of you younger generations: There is no "inferior race" in this world. I could go on, and on in this subject, but I believe I've made my initial point.

I really think the younger generations are more and more tolerant.
That being said, I am not one of the younger ones here, I don't think I a, a racist by any definition of the word, but people's problems with any race has nothing to do with the color of their skin, but learned cultural traits and behaviors that they find unacceptable.

Racism is alive and well. I have lived in NYC, Oakland, and SF and have experienced racism firsthand in all three cities. A recent example: Last month I saw a guy get into an argument with a Black homeless man. The homeless guy walked away when he got physically threatened, and the other guy followed him, screaming, "You fucking n****r!" over and over again. This was in SF, the supposed most liberal city in the U.S.
I'm glad to see you guys have negative feelings about racism, though. I do think we're all slowly moving in the right direction. 👍

Seriously... For every backwoods redneck waving the rebel flag around and screaming racial slurs there are a thousand decent people down here. There may be KIDS butting heads calling eachother honky or the "N" word, but I've never seen a more tight knit community anywhere else. Black, white, Hispanic, anything else... We'll be more than glad to give you the shirt off our backs.⚡🏀ʟєցi†ßɑʟʟєʀ🏀⚡ wrote:

I agree with previous posts, the younger gen are more tolerant. The only issue I have with the original post is that it implies only white people are racist?

Racism only exist because we acknowledge that there is such a thing as race. There is only one race, the human one.
-
😒 How did you gather that from that statement? Is imply say just bcuz HE feels that way dosent make the statement true. Idk who is the "most" and personally dont care. Its all ignorant to me anyway. Wtf cares what color you are. And granted someone in this thread stated that they have been robbed or something by "black" guys and thats understandable for him to feel some kind of way about it but you can place everyone in the same category. But ppl do it anyway. Idnt Rob ppl and im black an istay in Fla the south. So what does that say im racist?? Idnt go around saying white ppl this and redneck that bcuz isimply know better. Its just a big ass stereotype that ignorant people use as an excuse and they call it "racism". And thats my personally opinion. Dosent make me right or wrong
-
I didn't place everyone in the same category, like I said there's decent people and not so decent people of every race, I simply pointed out white people aren't the devil and holders of racist behaviour alone. There's racists in about every race just like there's good people in every race too.

I see your point, but just because something may be an abstract concept doesn't mean it's any less real to the people on the receiving end of discrimination. The fact is that lines were drawn, based solely on race, by government institutions in this country for many generations. Erasing those lines is not a simple process. The main reason we still recognize racial differences today is to gauge our progress towards a more equal society with regards to race. Any honest measurement makes it clear that we still have a ways to go.

Racism is bad. No one wins. Trust me........ I'm a turtle

Why is it always directed to white people? I know many Hispanic and some black people that are really racist to white people. ''Racism'' wouldn't be in our modern day dictionary if it wasn't for these particular people that just always have to turn everything into a race issue. For example, I live in Tucson, AZ which is fairly close to the southern border and anytime a drug dealer gets shot and killed by a border patrole agent, racial tensions rise. Why would that happen? It is because of people that think that that person was killed just because he was Hispanic. I am half Mexican/ White and I am not a racist. I just believe that racism keeps alive today by people that are the so called ''victim''.

Having racial prejudices without any power to act on those prejudices isn't really what racism is. True racism is institutionalized and oppressive and almexclusively practiced by a racial majority population, in America by whites.
