How to get a ticket.
Forums › General Discussion › How to get a ticket.-
If a cop pulls you over, do not say that you didn't do what they pulled you over for.
For example, if you run a stop sign and get pulled over, don't look the cop in the face and say that you came to a full stop.
The reason you are pulled over is because that cop just watched you commit your offense with their own eyes. Debating it with the cop us only going to put then in a foul mood, which equals tickets.

He is still going to give you a ticket

Maybe, maybe not. It's all situational. The more polite you are certainly lessens your chance of getting a ticket.

ive been pulled over a few times. always an very polite and cooperative and dont deny anything(i did it). never gotten a ticket.
-
Also, asking ” did I really?” Is also irritating. Yes, you did, or else that cop wouldn't be pulling you over.
-
Exactly c. Most cops are more than happy to let you off with a warning. Our job is not to take people's money, but to keep people safe.
-
I've been let off more times than not by being polite and answering the cop when I've been pulled over. The few tickets I have received were definitely deserved. Such as doing 40 mph over the speed limit.

If someone runs a stop sign around here the whole damn police department responds. My mom ran a stop sign once and four police cars were there. There was just the one that initially pulled her over, but the other 3 showed up afterwards. I guess my 49 year old mother was too much for that 300 pound cop to handle. Obese cops too? What the hell. I don't want obese police officers protecting my city. They over do things sometimes. It's like they have nothing else to do. Some crooked cops too. My friends dad grew some pot and was busted for it. We had a little hangout in their backyard in a shed. We had spray painted the walls with our names and such. The police wrote down our names for the investigation and all. However, my girlfriends family knows a bunch of cops or something and got them to take mine and her name off of some list they had. No disrespect to any law enforcement officers out there. But isn't that wrong? I respect what y'all do. Keepin' it safe so I can go be stupid. Thank you.

I always tell the truth. If I break the law and get caught that is my fault. Ive gotten two speeding tickets and two minors when I was underage. I have only myself to blame. But I've also been honest an gotten out of a couple minors and out of 4-5 speeding tickets. I rarely go over ten mph nowadays anyways.

Cops are checking for drunk drivers. They see you're not drunk they give you a warning and let you go.

That's bullshit! I got done for talking on a phone while driving only I wasn't anywhere near my phone! The copper claimed he saw me with it to my ear which is all bullshit. I had to provide phone records in court showing there were no calls made or received at the time he said I was talking on the phone. I had to pay for a solicitor to represent me and was never reimbursed. I don't know why he made up those lies but I suspect it was because he saw my tattoos which are clearly visible on my arms and I disagreed with him when I was right to. Some coppers are just wankers tbh.

Olsen, there are some bad cops, just like there are bad people in every job. Ojibwe, as far as I know, cops need probable cause to pull anyone over. They can't pull someone over just to check if they are drunk, they need to have seen that car break the law somehow. At least, that's how it's always been in my experience.

I'm from KY but I went to college in Florida. While down there, one night I ran a red light, changed lanes at an intersection, and cut off a cop. He pulled me over. He let me off with a warning because A) I was polite, and B) turns out he was from the same town I am in KY.

Tweek! Have you aware that I've been dismiss more than 6 time on speeding, 3 time fail to stop at the stop sign, and once illegal u turn. 😉 Remember you know who am I? Heh it was very simple and plain.
-
Also Olsen, cops are human too. Mistakes are made sometimes. Perhaps he really thought he saw you on the phone.

True there are bad ones out there that's the reason I said some co

Muskie! How are ya?

Cops are wankers! But it cost me $600 and 2 months of worrying about losing my license because some wanker "thought" he saw me on the phone. It may have been an honest mistake on his behalf but it nearly cost me my job and would have left me almost in a depression due to financial strain it would have put on my family. Humans make mistakes I understand that. But sometimes they really do need to look and be beyond any doubt that an offence had occurred. I tried showing him my call history but he didn't wanna look at that either.

Doing 👍 and 👉?

And honestly my whole life I've accepted my wrongs and made myself accountable for them. It's the way I was raised. And if I was wrong I would have copped it on the chin.

NEVER ask a cop; "hey aren't you guys supposed to be able to pass a physical fitness test" no matter how outta shape they are!
-
It's a job. And a business. Everywhere u go u sometimes have to deal with shitty employees no different. Some are cool most are on a power trip and love taking your money. Not to mention the employees who lie and steal which any customer service businesses will usually have quite a few... But hey what r ya gonna do..

Terfwarrior, why would a cop love taking someones money? It's not like they get it

I'm in Montreal , one time (the only time) I got caught turning left where it was forbidden , I've been very polite , the policeman gave me a fine of 90$ instead of 150$ & didn't took any point off my license (I should of lost 3). Being nice is, indeed, a very good approach !
