How to get a ticket.

I did 120kph in an 80 zone and the cop ticketed me for 100kph
I ran a red light and was let off.
Both times I was polite, confirmed what I had done and demonstrated that despite having made those mistakes I had control of the vehicle.

I was let off for driving 60 in a 35 zone by saying the sun was in my eyes. They may have seen me commit an offense, but I sure as hell didn't.

I got a gun drawn on me by some barney fife in a little azz town in the sticks for not wearing a seat belt and running a stop sign.....😞If someone runs a stop sign around here the whole damn police department responds.

I was pulled over during carpool time, well 1 minute in carpool time, with just myself. Got pulled over, admitted I was in the carpool lane, still ticketed. Didn't give any attitude what so ever or excuse. 500 dollars down the drain.Exactly c. Most cops are more than happy to let you off with a warning. Our job is not to take people's money, but to keep people safe.

Another tip is if you sing to them the Barbie song some cops may just let you go all depend on how terrible you singing is (and tweek shut up about my spelling in this one 😉)

Everybody has a bad story for being pulled over by an officer. Many people will bitch and cuss about 'oh, he is an a$$hole, he needed to fill his quota, power tripping, yadda yadda yadda'. Its a fact of life. I like the good stories, 'he let me off, he reduced the speed, gave me warning..'
I appreciate and applaud all officers for having the nuts to do what you do. Facing down an unknown person everytime, not knowing what they may or may not be doing ( or thinking if doing!)
To all those officers (traffic or otherwise) - thank you! I'd rather praise then criticize. I know its got to be a difficult job at the best of times.

Last time you pulled me over I still got ticket just because I made eye contact with the girl sitting in your passenger seat (OSU). You greedy Bargie Girl -
Yeah, well UK policemen will never let anything of with a warning :L

I completely agree with you there...Most people these days seem to have forgotten what polite ess is these days. If an officer stops you, its because you did something wrong, not because hes a dick or otherwise, and a lot of peeps dont realise that when you didnt do anything wrong, they wont pull you over.
And yes, beeing a smartass always results in a prise lol -
I'm always polite when I get pulled over. The only time I got a ticket was for going 80 in a 35 and having an open beer in my lap. He let the open container go and dropped the ticket to 44 in a 35 so I wouldn't get reckless driving.

people let emotions colour their judgement of people in jobs like policing. They'd moan a lot more if they found out someone had been ignored/ let off by police when seen committing an offense who then went on to cause an accident. What really worries me here is the amount of people admitting to more than doubling the speed limit. The police do a great job.
Another consideration is a true story from my uncle, who was in the police from cadets to retirement, who once had to pull over and book one of the powers that be (i forget the rank) who then contested the ticket, regardless that it was a) caught on camera, and b) it was that person who was in charge of the targets for road offenses in that area... people, in general, are idiots. but the police have a set of guidelines, and are impartial judges of our situations. we are lucky to have them- imagine some countries lacking a good, honest force -
No lie
Beeng nise, an hvving graet ( .Y. ) hs let me go. He ssed wt i did, i lokd dwn, an lokd at him an sed , yeh i ddid. Im rly sory, il be mr carfl.

Or just pretending you're deaf and only communicating by sign language. So police had to gesture and dismiss most of the time. Have anyone tried it before?
-
Agreed. Do not try any bullshit emotional tricks. Keep it yes sir/no sir. No crying, no arguing, no BS! You may still get that ticket, but if you act proper maybe you won't.

And yes, beeing a smartass always results in a prise lolPeople say we whine about this and we whine about that when sometimes they (coppers) actually do make mistakes. I don't know what part of the world you're from but down here even the police make mistakes.

I was popped for doing 45 down a hill where the speed limit was 25. The officer let me off with a "failure to obey traffic regulations" ticket, which saved me two points on my license and I only had to pay $93.50 instead of the $200+ speeding ticket. Hell of a guy!
