Totally different situation, and for different reasons. Israel has other problems, but they don't have gun control problems. Their schools truly are locked down. They protect their people much better than we ever could. Everyone is armed, openly, with assault rifles, and they have had only one school shooting since 1974. Even for someone intent on getting killed after killing as many people as he can, if everyone had a gun, he might get one shot off.

So which is it then...good, law abiding citizens carry openly or armed guards? I'm getting confused here with the base changing so often.
Most likely those armed guards are also just in the settlements where they are putting a foothold on someone else's land making it that much more dangerous. We'd need to do that say if we were settling in Mexico. That would've made for an accurate comparison.
Truth be told, the reason there Israelite on Israelite crime is so low is because of superior gun control, superior healthcare and other safety nets, and now this is very important and pivotal -- they dont have income inequality. As where we have the highest income inequality amongst all industrialized countries. The bigger the gap between your expectations and reality, the less healthy and happy that society is whether it's a poor or a rich country. This expectation is what creates disgruntled people and what has perpetuated the crack in our society.
