Also sorry not to come out as a dick, but the thing about dubstep & electronic music is that its just music, there arent any politics in it, no middle person, no record company, no industry, its just music, Someone made it, and people like it thats itGood dubstep?

I wouldn't go so far as to call it actual music. It's a collection of sounds put together.Mι⚡⚡ㄗɪⱥƶƶɑ💋 wrote:

So what you saying is...music is NOT a collection of sounds put together? Man these 'classical' composers should never have done that...times change. Music flows with the times. Embrace change, Elvis is dead. :) and so are 8 tracks.

Swedish House Mafia - Save the World (Knife Party Remix) - that drop has been stuck in my head for weeks. Again, more electro than straight dub but still worth checking out (has to be the knife party remix)

Ok ok I'm sorry let me rephrase that. It's a collection of random, computer generated noises pieced together to make a kind of song. And actually I am from that old school train of thought. Elvis and the Beatles had it right. Is anyone gonna be bumping skrillex or nicki minaj or any of the other modern crap in 20 years? Or even 10? Doubt it. The radio is dead man. Has been for years.Ꮹཞ།ཀཀ wrote:

Radio is not dead. Just reformed. Music is variety. I listen to all kinds of music, including dubstep. Although dubstep can be a lot of computer generated noises pieced together, it's generally not random. Remember that when Elvis and the Beatles came out, people from older generations thought they were crap. There are still amazing bands and vocalists coming out with new stuff. It may just not be the style you're accustomed to.

mu·sic
/ˈmyo͞ozik/
Noun
The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.
The vocal or instrumental sound produced in this way. -
That's like saying Turf Wars isn't a game, because it doesn't have actual moving characters and sounds and story line. It's your own option but when it comes to it it's music just like a silent film is still a film.

@Grimm
I'm in my early 30's, so I remember the early forays into electronica and club/dance from Daft Punk to industrial electronic like Nine inch nails in the early 90s. I remember the spinoffs of techno and ambient and I remember thinking most of it was shit. I pretty much disregarded club and electronic music in general until maybe a year and a half ago when some 18 year old kid showed me Skrillex's Scary Monsters. I was blown away - dubstep was and is heavy, catchy, and by far and away the best sounding genre of electronic music that I'd ever heard. My iPhone is now packed full of dubstep and Skrillex has extended to Flux Pavillion, Skream, Elite Force, the list goes on... I sincerely doubt dubstep is going away in the next ten years and I don't see it as a flash in the pan. I see it as getting more and more mainstream now (ffs Skrillex videos play next to U2 on mtv2). There's a reason for that: it's just good music.TL;DR: wall of text says dubstep is good

@ Khal I read it all lol.
Fair enough. Maybe I just haven't heard any that really appeals to me. I heard a little once and chalked it all up to being computer generated noise. Didn't see any real skill in it. It's like saying Lil Wayne is a good rapper. I guess maybe I should broaden my horizons a bit. -

Yea exactly. And I used to think screamo was crap too. Then my buddy introduced me to some that's actually pretty good. Check out a band called Bleeding Through. They might change your mind a bit. Vocalist is badass. He actually sings too it's not just mindless screaming.Ꮹཞ།ཀཀ wrote:
