Cereal Killer77Agreed. I would be interested to see what the government of Libya is doing to catch these militants?
The government of Libya , who we supported, turned a blind eye to its "freedom fighters," who we supported, indiscriminately killing black people in that country, so don't hold your breath.
As for killing 5 of them, who is "them"? Define that for me, and tell me how do we know who's "them" and who's a neutral citizen and just wants to live their life in peace?

FYI more US soldiers have committed suicide than died fighting in the middle east.
Are we talking in the last 200 years now, or are we talking recently? Whatever website or shithouse wall you r pulling your data off of might be twisting some numbers just a bit...

Whats the US gonna do once we get the people that help planned and commited the act. We're goin give them a nice prison cell, 3 meals a day, books to read, ect., ect. When what we should is give them what the gave the people at the embassy. Death!

The country is in so much turmoil at the moment to suggest Libia as a whole country should be attacked is frankly crazy. It is awful what happened. It makes me quite sick thinking that an embassy is not safe. But it does not surprise me either. Violence only spawns violence, sometimes combat is a necessity but blind revenge that will only hurt more innocent people

I do agree that Libya is much better as an ally than an enemy. Please don't misunderstand my meaning of the first question. It would be stupid to attack them. However, if no action is taken to capture and/or kill those responsible, then I see no problem to cutting aid in half or completely until the culprits are found.

A "nice prison cell" in Libya? Haha!

👆True. When something like this happens it seems everyone's knee jerk reaction is to attack someone right now. The world is a complicated place, for every action, there is a reaction. The country must be careful how it responds to incidents like this.Couple of points from someone who's worked in multiple Embassies around the world:
-They are there on a diplomatic mission, only a small cadre of armed Marines protect the compound.
-This thread has some of the most ignorant crap I've read on the forums in a long time.
Unlike The Man I have not worked overseas, but I have worked for the government and I'm sure he would agree with me in saying that not everything you see on the news is accurate.

I would love to see the Libyan president stand up and ask the USA for some FBI agents or something to help find those responsible. Their country is still rebuilding with differant factions still fighting each other. Not sure if they are able to lead an investigation right now and I think most Americans would feel better if that request was made.

Sorry to say the way things are ran these days im starting to think so as well.So it's ok to kill them but how dare they kill us ?
Why are we even fighting ?

From the little bit I skimmed through, I see some saying we should just attack Libya over a few of their people.
So my question is
Think of all the deaths as a result of riots, etc. in the states, should we start killing each other?Hell, people die in stampedes for black Friday deals. Yet the whole crowd doesn't go to war.
All I'm saying is, you want justice for it? Get the individuals, not everyone who was "there". (also yes I'm aware of guilty by association, but how could that apply here?)

Every time people call for war all i think about is that you are calling for my friends, your friends, our family members to go kill more people. You think war is clean? My buddy is the toughest sob i know and he cries in his sleep. Fuck sending our friends and family off to do something that haunts them forever. ( this is mostly directed at death eater ).
To meck, source of suicide death > warzone death came from a statement from the pentagon. Google 'us soldier suicide nytimes'

Romney and Fox news are fucking liars. Does this sound like an apology?
"This is an attack that should shock the conscience of people of all faiths around the world," she said. "We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless act of violence."
With her eyes occasionally watering, Clinton spoke at length about Ambassador Stevens, whom she knew well and whom she had personally dispatched to Libya at the beginning to the uprising against Muammar Gaddafi, to be the American attache to the rebel leadership.
"He arrived on a cargo ship in the port of Benghazi and began building our relationship with the Libyan revolutionaries," she said. "He risked his life to stop a tyrant, then gave his life trying to help build a better Libya. The world needs more Chris Stevenses."
-
Clinton too pledged to maintain America's relationship with Libya, although she conceded that events like those on Tuesday challenged even her certainty.
"Today many Americans are asking -- indeed, I ask myself -- how could this happen," Clinton said. "How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction. This question reflects just how complicated, and at times how confounding, the world can be. But we must be clear-eyed even in our grief: This was an attack by a small and savage group, not the people or the government of Libya."
-
Romney's reference to an "apology for America's values" was directed at a statement the U.S. Embassy in Cairo put out on Tuesday morning, but that statement, which was itself responding to the outrage over the anti-Islamic film, was issued before the embassy was attacked, despite Romney's statement to the contrary. What's more, the statement does not apologize for America's values, but rather supports a founding American value, religious tolerance, while referencing the "universal right of free speech." The statement in full:
-
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.
-
Instead, Clinton reiterated an apology issued today by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, which is now deleted, that said: "We condemn the continuing efforts by the wrong people to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims."
Check your facts before you jump up on your soap box.
Also many of the quotes you just posted were cited in the FOXNEWS link I posted above..

Repercussions to who? Innocent people? You'd be giving them exactly what they want, feeding hate, feeding terror. No better than their own actions, worse even.

We cant hold an entire country liable for what a few of its citizens did.Protesters storm the embassy in Libya and killed the ambassador and 3 others. Then the state department issues an apology to the protesters??? Aren't these the same people who were chanting USA just a few months ago after we help liberate them? 1979 was the last ambassador was killed. So would u view this as an act of war?
If their Govt doesnt handle it, then yes i believe that raises hostilities.
