I was living in Michigan on my way to work had a house to paint my brother and I were listening to Howard stern as every thing happened ended up listening to the news the whole time we painted the house but the one thing that sticks out the most about that day was the comment the german lady that owned the house made as she left "it's a very nice day, today" she was either oblivious to what was going on but or was trying to make light of the situation who knows.

I worked in 2nd Tower four days before it happened. The morning it happened, I nearly slept through the whole thing because I went to bed at 6AM. When I woke up at noon, the whole world was upside down and I had a gazillion messages on my answering machine. I was suppose to fly out of JFK on the 12th. Ended up renting a car to drive across the country instead. It was a surreal drive to say the least.

In kindergarten, sitting on the carpet. Still remember it like it was yesterday. The teacher told us what happened, and all the parents took their kids out of school early. I went home and watched the news all night, it was horrifying..

I was in the second grade and It was about 7:30am in the mourning. I went to the store and and came back to school. When I came back I noticed the school yard was empty and a teacher spotted me and said go home! I told why and she the towers were hit. I didn't understand the situation so I went anyways. When I got home I was trying to watch cartoons, and 911 was on every channel so I was stuck at home doing nothing. When I actually watched the news I was glued to the TV because I saw a plane actually hit a tower and I was like Whoa !

I was on a flight heading home from vacation and they mum are us turn our plane around mid flight over the Atlantic and they would not tell us why I just remember getting off the plane and they had a bunch of TV's and everyone was crowding around them we were stuck in Amsterdam for a week

Getting ready for meetings. Turned on the tv while I was getting ready and they were talking about a small plane hitting the tower. When they finally got a shot of the tower it was obvious it wasn't a small one. Then in my car driving to the office when the 2nd plane struck. Sat there until the last minute that I could watching and then followed it during every break throughout the day. God bless all the victims and their families, as well as, all those who are still fighting against those aligned with the perpetrators.

I was in second grade in Idaho. I remember my teacher saying that some really bad people did some really bad things, and that we had to go home. When I got home, I watched the live feed as the second plane struck the second tower. I aske my mom what was happening, and she just said that some bad people were purposefully flying airplanes into buildings. I was glued to the tv, and since have been to the 9/11 memorials in Manhattan and at the Pentagon...I can only imagine what that day was like 11 years ago

I was off the southern tip of India, on an aircraft Carrier. We launched the first strikes against Afghanistan on Oct 7, 2001. From my carrier and battle group. We launched more munitions that day than what was used on the entirety of DDay.
I remember walking into the mess hall and looking at the TV, I asked one of the other guys on the boat, "What movie is this?" he said, "It's no movie Petty Officer. This is really happening." I assume the kid was pretty fresh out of boot camp and you could tell he had never been away from his parents. He looked at me crying and asked, "Are we going to die?" I held that man like a brother until he composed himself and I said no, we will be fine.

I was 7 and in 2nd grade. I woke up to my grandma (my parents were in the hospital cuz my mom was pregnant) telling me about it & seeing it on the news. Mrs. Richman, our teacher, had the class sit in a circle for like an hour & she explained that they were terrorists. When I came home I found out my sister was born that morning.

I was in my college dorm preparing to go to my bowling class. (it was an easy elective). Once I got to the bowling alley we watched the towers fall. I went to my history class later that day. There were only 4 or 5 of us there. Our professor gave us a test to screw over everyone who chose to stay at home. The tested was basically a roll sheet where you simply sign your name. I called her out on it and she responded, "Well, the planes didn't hit here."
Later that night, we had our second day of Rush.

I was in the 5th grade in Jersey City and classes stopped after the first plane hit, all i heard was firetrucks and police sirens for hours until we were allowed to leave. I'll never forget that clear view of the black cloud of smoke on the way home...id always stare at the towers on the way to school everyday :(

I was a junior in high school. Woke up to go to school like usual when my grandma tells me "you'll hear about it anyway but just so you know a plane crashed into the world trade center."
I happened to be watching her tv when the station it was on caught the second one hitting. It was on all the tvs in every classroom the rest of the day. Remember that morning vividly. -
I was at NSA, Fort Meade. Very quick lockdown happened; serious faced men wearing black uniforms carrying guns at the ready appeared at all the access points. Unmarked military vehicles patrolled the perimeter of the campus. All non-essential mission work stopped. The facility became an armed camp on the outside and a very re-focused, tense group inside, working their craft.

It was My one year anniversary at the jOb I was working. The local radio stations had reported a "small aircraft" had clipped one of the towers. I will never forget one of my coworkers commenting about fireworks for my anniversary there, as we watched a replay of the first tower being hit. We soon realized it wasn't an accident, nor a "small aircraft". peace and reflection for all of those affected. 🙏 may the deceased live on in the hearts of the soldiers fighting for the freedoms they enjoyed.......

I was installing updates on a tax accountants computer networks(I am not in the US). I told him I was leaving, I have several friends in jersey and NYC which I left to get in touch with, I was stunned by the pics my friends in jersey sent me really brought it home better than the news networks to me. My respect still to all those who gave their lives trying to save others during the tragedy.
