I've got this stupid error on my vista laptop and it won't let me connect to the Internet. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work.

The problem = vista.
-
Is it you home network? Or someone else's wifi?

Why? So u can't modify anything and if your a programmer you have to pay for certain .dll and .ocx files? Windows xp was the best and still is. Vista wasn't terrible but "7" is crap.TheRamb Add: 86 wrote:

Yep. I still use XP for just about everything in my house. The one laptop I have that came with vista now runs Linux.✭J⌖и Λl͟l͟e͞и✭ wrote:

If itsyour home network, you need to first delete it from your system.. "forget it", and then try again.
If its a random unsecured network, there might not be a DNS connection, and it will never work. -

I'm not into customization so much. I just go for functionality. So yea, to each his own I guess✭J⌖и Λl͟l͟e͞и✭ wrote:

I've tried all of these things but thanks for the help.

I might take the sumbitch outside and troubleshoot it with my 12 gauge.

Ring your provider first to check if it's a fault at the line, if not the delete and reinstall or update the wireless settings. Is it connected via cable or wireless when you get the fault or is it both?
-
Could be a problem with the router/modem assuming this is a Wireless network as opposed to an Ethernet connection
-
Restart your PC.
Unplug your modem for 15 secs.
Plug it back in and it will reboot.
If that doesn't work try throwing the computer in a fit of rage. -
It's gotta be a problem with y computer. All of my other wireless devices work just fine.
-
I have this problem all the time too. What he only one it happens on is this really old computer. The temp fix was just to keep connecting, leaving it for 15 min, then check if it's connected, if not then disconnect and repeat. The permenant fix for me was to get a power line network( look it up) and hook it up directly to the computer.

Wv go into device manager and uninstill the deive then reinstall it.

Occasionally routers "assign" the max number of users and therefore have no remaining ip addresses to assign. It is possible for all other wireless devices to work like nothing is wrong if this is the case.
The simple solution to this is to restart your router.

Your wifi broadcasts on the same frequency as your cordless phones. Might be able to fix that by forcing it to use a different frequency (like a, b, g, or n) in the router's settings or by getting a new wireless router that supports other modes.
I beleive it's the 800mhz and 2.4ghz that are common in phones.

Click on START> RUN, type: CMD and press ENTER.
Type the following then hit enter & restart you computer.
ROUTE DELETE 0.0.0.0

Still trying to fix that wv! I recommend the 12 gauge.
