Hour 16:
I've since calmed down from hour 18. I managed to paint without severe injury so that's good. Going to a movie at 7:30, so that will be a test of willpower to stay awake.

It's amazing that throughout this first day you have already figured out how to time travel. 😜Hour 16:

Mood: stable/happyStay away from caffeine and sugar or you will crash hard. If anything eat more fruit and drink lots of water. Natural sugars. Maybe try meditation? Get some rest without actually sleeping?

Hour 18:
Woke up feeling normal. Not much has changed recently. -
When do you get to have your 3-4 hour rem sleep ?
-
I stay up nearly all night, every night.
~3-4 hours of sleep a day is fine, sometimes more if i'm really exhausted. Good luck, but there are wayyy simpler ways of approaching something like this and making it last. -

Hour 22:
Couldn't do hour 20 due to being in a movie. I'm still feeling good, but I'm slowly starting to get more and more tired. On the way home from the movie, I could've sworn I saw fireworks but my friends didn't see them. I think khal is trying to mess with me lol. -
24 hours:
One day in and I am feeling better than usual. Im waking up much easier than usual, and feeling better after having taken the 20 mins of sleep. Today seemed to stretch on forever(probably the consequence of a 22 hour day). My tiredness rose and fell throughout the day, which I expected. Looking forward to day 2. -
Extremely late 26 hour update:
Couldn't sleep during my allotted time for some reason. In other news everything I see is fuzzy! -
Drink water or you'll pass out ruining the experiment

28 hour update:
I'm struggling to make it to my 6 am sleep time. This may be the first signs if the so-called zombie phase. I have noticed a sharp increase in creativity and detachment from conversation. This has yet to be noticed by my peers. I have yet to experience a dream in a sleep session which tells me that I have yet to enter REM sleep.
Positive note: the morning visitor of all males does not seem to happen during this schedule. This was a primary concern of mine early in the experiment, due to the fact that I would be waking up several times of day, potentially exposing impromptu girth in inconvientent times. Finally, a self-solving problem! -
Lol the morning visitor that's classic.
-
36 hour update:
For some reason my 6am alarms decided not to go off and I didn't end up waking up until 10am. I was pissed off. But I have figured out a few things from last night.
1. I can't really skip a sleep session or I will pass out prematurely.
2. I have taken for granted sleeping for a long time(in my case right now 4 hours is long).
3. I'll probably take an extra day to get used to that due to my failure this morning.
4. I need a backup alarm clock. -
Another great read by BadBean. Loving it!
'impromptu girth' lmao
-
I knew u failed it was that damn water!😉😁
-
Does anybody have an idea for a way for my alarm to be discrete because as it turns out, my family turned mine off twice before it could wake me up. I knew I set those alarms!
Maybe I need to wear headphones to bed? -
And yes I think I'm just going to have to re-frickin-start tonight. Gotta love my family though.
-
Open up you alarm clock, run a couple wires from the alarm to your junk.......the shock should wake you up and take care of your chubby friend...lol
-
Doesn't anyone notice how I do this same experiment....every three to four days.... For three to four days at a time... For the last 8 months....? Just read my forum posts. I really only micro sleep or autopilot.
-
Talking from experience, this is gonna be hard for you... 26 hours is nothing, and at 22-24 your said you were seeing firework hallucinations.... I don't get even fuzzy vision until the 40 hour mark or so. Don't go balls out. Ease into this cycle.

Yeah, I never heard you say you were doing that, but what I thought was odd was that you could post at all hours of the day. So, I guess I had suspicions, but I didn't know. I got the idea to do it the day I read about it then I figured that's what you did.Doesn't anyone notice how I do this same experiment....every three to four days.... If I get less than 7 hours two nights in a row I start getting a sore throat... 😔😔😔

Be careful beanie. If the goal you have in mind is to simply slow down your thoughts in order to see them more clearly, than this is a wrong mindset to have.
Yes some ideas and inspirations that come from sleep deprivation, and alternative sleep cycles, are compelling, and often worth experiencing. However, some of those brilliant thoughts you are going to have are nothing more than delusion and babble.
Just don't confuse the two, or you'll be as lost as I can sometimes be.

I'm not exactly trying to sleep deprive. It's just a means to the end of getting to a 22 hours sleep schedule which doesn't sleep deprive you. I feel... I guess inefficient when I sleep for too long. I'm actually pretty sure that my thoughts for days 3-7 are going to be pretty nonsensical though which is why I want to post it on the forums for everyones entertainment. But I can't do that if my family turns off my alarm!!! LolBe careful beanie. So, I'm restarting today at Hour 0. I'm changing my times to 1,5,9,1,5,9 because those are more in tune with my schedule. Also, I bought an alarm app that has a cockerel sound that is loud as hell. I can use it with my headphones so it should cover the family dilemma.

Here a couple more tips.
-Take a complete vitamin supplement.
-try a more mild cycle for a month or so before you jump into this one, especially if you aren't used to dramatic shifts in lifestyle like this.
-this is a more than perfect time to kill two birds with one stone and experiment with OOBEs, lucid dreaming, or astral projecting.Just my personal tips if you are gun hoe about this. I know enough than to try to talk you out of it. Not would I. Anything I could help explain about this based on my own experiences?

Thanks for the tips, I actually need some advice for getting through the hard blocks of time. At 1-5 am it's just extremely hard to stay up due to lack of things to do. I try to do physical activity but it gets monotonous and I can almost fall asleep doing it.Here a couple more tips.
