I do wish a few more people had chimed in on my questions regarding whether people should be free to marry or sleep with anyone they want, as long as there is a true attraction. Specifically, a parent with an adult child (and for sake of argument, let's say producing offspring is not a possibility for any number of reasons). Should it be socially acceptable, or would a number of people ok with gay marriage have a problem with that?

The bible has a lot to say about hypocrites, or people who exploit the word of god. I'd be happy to share the passages with you. As far as sins go, it's a huge no-no. Special place in hell for hypocrites. Far worse than laying with another man if you buy into that stuff. -

It doesn't mean it's not a valid argument, but:
"Gay" is now culturally acceptable. If you are against homosexuality for moral reasons, you are counter-culture.
Incest is not culturally acceptable at the current time, mainly because of genetic health problems, child abuse, and the natural aversion to sex with your kids.
If at one point it does become culturally acceptable, you will have to come back with new arguments from something other than a bible to back you up. It's not a well documented sin, is it?

"Righteous" Lot is one of my favorites. He "accidentally" slept with his daughters while drunk, spawning his own grandchildren...
Giving out bibles is what makes atheists. That's why England burned people for owning English bibles.

Just a quick point: government doesn't decide what a "marriage" is. The church does. A "marriage" is a union before God. Therefore, "marriage" can't be granted to gays (I personally don't see the problem in letting them marry). So allow "civil unions" and give them the same benefits of a marriage. Problem solved.

Then everyone can marry whoever they want, and it only means anything to friends and family, and maybe church, as it should.
