Forums āŗ General Discussion āŗ Question - what do u consider "a lot of money" - in real life š-
What do you consider to be a high income in real life?
It seems that the overall trend in north America is a shrinking middle class and more struggling to make ends meet.
I was just curious what those out there consider to be a good, above average income these days. 30k per year? 50k ? 75k? 100k?
Just curious. Feel free to insert you own number

Ā£12,000-Ā£15,000 a year would suit me perfect

50$ to buy battlefield premium!!!!šššš

It depends strongly on where you live. In calif where I am you need to have a much bigger income to afford housing, so the same amount of income doesn't go nearly as far.

Its never enuff. The sad truth is that most people live beyond their means. If you make 50k, you need 60k. If you make 100k, you need 120k. Etc etc. Money is never the answer. Ive seen people in some of the poorist contries in the world. They dont know what an Iphone is, what 50" tv looks like, or what TW is. Their only concern is where their next meal comes from and self preservation from day to day, but they seem to be some of the happiest people i have ever seen.

However, I'd like to hear people thoughts anyways.

A good salary would be 80k a year but clearly most of us are not that lucky š
-
Only 1-2% of the population makes over $100k a year...I'd say if your making 50-60 a year your probably doing pretty well for yourself!!
-
An average American salary is about $43k a year. I hope to make more than that though someday.

It's really nothing that special besides getting the DLC early. EA is messing up DICE. On another note though, I'd say 50k is a pretty high salary. If you're above that then you're doing pretty good.50$ to buy battlefield premium!!!!šššš

Exactly, the higher middle class in a state like Texas would be considered "poor" in places like California and new York. So what's a high income in Cali? What's a high income in Texas... That was the point of the thread guys. Curious to see if a trend develops....

About 30 M a year I would say. That's a decent amount. If you're shooting high I would say 80-100 M. If you want astronomical, a few B a year.
-
For most people, $1 Million is a lot.
-
I make 8.5M an hour lol. ;-)

I think the average American household makes what, 50-60k a year? Housing fluctuates wildly across the country - a 2000 square feet suburban 3 bedroom 2 bath house might be 600k in San Fran, 500k on Long Island, 400k in Boston, 300k in Denver, 200k in Kansas City, and 100k in Bangor, Maine. So honestly it depends on where you live.
Of course, enjoy this anecdotal evidence that doesn't prove shit!

2 billion

Maybe 2million kilos of .9999 gold bars

It's kinda hard to say nowadays what a high income is but I think 50-60K would be high for a standard family. The reason I say that is because the economy's bad and with such a high unemployment rate it's hard. Also with all the tax's coming into play as well as obamacare coming in (unless it gets repealed) I think that estimate will grow smaller.

Between me and the wifey we are close to 100k....but we spend it stupidly....this guy likes to have fun!
-
Check out the median income, (avg american income) look at the cost of living by zip code, and figure out where that 40-45k would go the furthest. It is all available on the internet.

When you lose track of payday.

My family is also in that 1-2%. However, we struggle to make ends meet each month. This is due to the fact that we contribute heavily to 401k and retirement funds. Not to mention we are supporting 2 households and have a child in college and 2 more that will be there soon.

That's a hard question to answer. I'm happy with my $400 dollars a week, not too bad for my age.

Strange that my family is in the top 2% that the wall street protestors cry about, yet we're just as broke as everyone else.

It really all depends on how hard u push yourself. If you go to college (I know some people can't) and get a good degree and find a stable, good job you could be pushing the 100k 1-2 percent by your 30s. Although people may not get those privileges. I would say about 100k is good if everything turns out alright.
